BUG SHIP - how is OP and boring

    none stop buffs that make it so its shields dont drop at all for 6 mins with 3 of us shooting (1 in a bug 2 in fleet defients) I dont know about you but no buffs can can keep that up for just over 6 mins not with that kind of damage on you, im not sating they was hacking but id love to know what build they had

    It could very well be a number of things.
    • Traits
    • Weapons/ Build
    • Abilities slotted
    • Order of Keybinds carefully in sync
    • Romulan embassy boffs
    • Rep gear
    • Elite Fleet shields
    • Lobi store consoles & special like red matter cap.
    • Cross-healing
    • Resistances
    • Skill tree mastery
    • Knowledge of defensive flying
    • boffs with Leadership
    • etc
    • Ablative Ar. consumable.
    • Team Batteries
    • Power level switching
    • etc

    I have a bugship, it is overpowered and thats just mine.
    I have seen and tonight I saw some incredible stuff involving a bug ship.
    Somehow on his own strips resistances of 2 ships (he was a tac) and also ignored tac teams and shield buffs, so had debuffed us before we had started.
    He was throwing out just the same DPS as me yet 2 of us had no effect on him.
    even the Kumari wing overload which alphad to 65000+ hit him, I crit sev'd him, it came up in big yellow numbers at 102000 but had no effect whatsover on him, nothing. Not even a shield waver, he spins around, does one cannon burst and my shields just disappear to nothing instantly, then with all resistances stacked he still kills in less than 2 seconds.
    His chum in another bug ship earlier had done the neat 100% pass through on shields trick as well.
    Oh, when I was dead, I counted his buffs, he was running 23 buffs at once! I dont have 23 buffs to use. (On his own away from his team so not from other ships).

    I recognize this scenario... :D
    if it was last night in Capture and Hold, it was probably me and my fleetleader u are talking about.

    All i can say... PVP bootcamp is very good...

    I did take you out with an alfa when your tac and APO was on CD.

    I havent done a C&H, when mine happened, the guy was on his own as well, no other enemy within 25Km.

    There is no magic involving the JHAS, only its freaking 20 base turnrate along with its small size which make it practically impossible to beat using another escort.
    On top of that it has both the best defense and second best offense available to escorts and it also has the best impulse mod in game.

    Where other ships trades tons of hull and shields for +1 turnrate, the JHAS trades nothing for +4 (some say having only 1 sci console slot is a disadvantage but I hope its a joke knowing how TRIBBLE these consoles really are).

    Devs want lockbox ships to be a little op, ok why not but this thing is much, much better than any other escort. I am unsure they realise how powerful turnrate is.
    And imo its sad to see one of the worst dominion ships being an absolute monster ingame...

    Without proof it's impossible to say for sure. Perhaps the Bug you encountered had someone healing them. That could explain all the active abilities.

    Ok saw your last post...Elite fleet shields stack resists so it looks like more active resists are up but those are passives.

    The guy was held, debuffed by a sci and had no shields. No ships within 25k to heal him either.
    Not the first time Ive come across that issue, thankfully its not often at that extreme.

    We all know in DS9 the bug ship was pretty lacking, the Defiant ate them alive, in fact that thing ate quite a few ships in the later episodes, including Klingons.

    seriously enough of the bug being op, there are other ships that can beat the bug, its just as dk-frontiers said, numerous possibilities are reasons why one ship is better and whether support from team gives extra resists. 5 man arena are for 5 man team whether mixed on premade.

    turn-rate is not op! I can make a ship with more turn than bug, temporal destroyer with 51 turn at the moment for example: aux2damp/2 copies.

    knowing your ship is the best thing I can tell you and experimenting with different skills but beware extra damage may make you squishy, visa versa.

    I will say though, I made my freebe patrol escourt dent a bug with blue mark 11 console gear in todays game! it was my driver coils pve toon.

    A ship is only OP when its captain has skill. If that bugship that is owning everyone gets into a defiant, he will STILL own everyone. if some guy in a defiant doing 1200 dps, gets in a Jhas, he is still going to suck.

    exactly. so what if you can make other escorts turn at around 50 with consoles and AtD, you can do that with the bug with no station powers and turn consoles
