Hey all, I've just released a new mission called "Remains of the DaiMon". It's a Solo RP Fed mission. It is Level 31+.
You are ordered by the Commander-in-Chief himself to assist the Ferengi in an important matter of state. You must turn command of your ship over to a Ferengi captain and work together to carry out your orders.
Played this one a second time last night for the sole reason that the first time was marred by a few things happening around that house that really got in the way of my immersing myself into the story - which I am happy to say was quite detailed.
I had a much better time last night on the replay as I was able to soak in more details and plot points. I did have a tough time wrapping my brain around the idea of a Starfleet vessel surrendering sole command to a Ferengi crew, but hey....this is fiction. I suppose in a universe of Q's and Trelanes, maybe I should just not dwell on such minutiae.
As far as Ferengi characters go, these were not the formulaic and hackneyed aliens we've become used to over a couple of decades of Trek. I got the sense that I was talking to some trained officers here that just happened to be of that culture, and the key points of their profit-driven society were represented, but not overbearing (as is usually the case with Ferengi). That was nice. Great characterizations.
The chaos that took place at the Federation Camp upon the conclusion felt a bit disjointed in some places, and a couple of events seemed unlikely, but the cameo by two canon characters in the second half of the mission was a welcome surprise (and I'm a sucker for any missions that reference episodes that I have seen and enjoyed).
Fun stuff.
Would like to play the sequel, "Jolan Truth" but I do not find any listing for it in-game.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback. Right now, I have Jolan Truth withdrawn to make some updates. It badly needed some plothole filling and some more detail. I expect it to be back up in a couple of weeks. Thanks again.
