Any word yet on Tier 5 Fleet Hangar Pets yet?

jonnyreloadjonnyreload Member Posts: 5 Arc User
I know these posts pop up from time to time every few months or so but I was wondering if by now, anyone has reached Tier 5 Science in their Fleet Starbase to let others know what exactly the stats are for those upgraded Hangar Pets?

Hell, it's been so long that I'll even accept speculation or rumors at this point (Why cryptic doesn't want to release the information even though were all building towards it, god only knows)

I think people are REALLY close on it at this point. Maybe not 100% there, but close.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Just in case they're not something all that desirable, so people stop grinding towards it (and spending money on Dil and such).

We're at T4 Sci, working towards T5. We're a ways away from it, but I'll let people know what it is if we happen to be one of the further along fleets.

cause ppl would stop at tier 4. just like with elite fleet weapons. they are only useful in pvp, so many fleets instead concentrate on other stuff

Well if it costs so much dilithium/resources/etc..... Why not make them desirable then? I mean if they are really cheap hangar bay pets then it's gonna be obvious to everyone that this was just a blatant scam to milk more Dilithium out of the community... Which is economicly illogical. With a scam, once someone is duped, word spreads fast and no one else rushes to dump all their resources in that tier, if there are good items in that tier 5 project, everyone and their mother are gonna be farming like crazy and spending real world cash on Dilithium just to get to the project.

I mean it feels like the Elite Scorpion from the Rep System might actually be costing Cryptic profits at this point since you don't really need anything except time to pick up the best Hangar Pets in the game.

I am not exactly sure why cryptic made the elite weapons bad, but they did and have never indicated that they will change it.
The elite ship/ground items aren't as good as the set stuff either.
Science is hard (because cryptic thinks the sci/med doff discrepancy is hilarious) but if the other elite stuff isn't very good then neither is the pets.

And why do t1 vs t5 ships even exist anyways?
Is the fleet oddy/bortasq worth t5 without the consoles and the variants?

I don't think it will be rethought until a larger percentage of the fleets acquire those ranks and cryptic will probably make it make more sense as well as make is more accessible
Should I start posting again after all this time?

Except it's not fleet quality. It's the Odyssey Star Cruiser and the Bortas, the 2nd Anniversary versions of the ships. They cost 200k Fleet Credits.

exactly. the entire starbase setup seems like it was poorly designed.

well. at the time imo that oddy was a good ship. I mean it still is a great ship, and technically it is cheaper than other fleet ships (tho they did not know the price for fleet modules on the exchange, so they did not know the difference would be so little)

it is not that bad, tier v shipyard. I mean at the time when they designed it, the HEC was great (and everyone would have freaked out if the Tac escort retro would have been put there), and the intrepid was probably the best sci ship (but then the vesta came, and as it is already a fleet ship, it kinda made the fleet intrepid look silly at tier v)

Its my understanding that there is a fleet variant of the JHAS hangar pet and the Jem'Hadar fighters so at least those two ought to be worth it.

if you have the regular attack pet you may be able to get an updated elite one.

Well they stated that there was an ultra variant of the JHAS pet so its possible to assume that there's also an ultra rare variant of the fighters too.

They said something about there being ultra rare variants of the JHAS pet in one of the things were they said a thing about them being an exclusive bonus for bug and dread owners.

In the duty officer promo page about the Jem'Hadar attack ship under where it says EXCLUSIVE It says the scaling levels of quality of the pet are available in the store dil store and fleet store if you own both the dread and the bug.

    Your right, nice find.

    http://sto.perfectworld.com/news/?p=833421

EXCLUSIVE: As an added bonus for owners of a Jem?Hadar Attack Ship, there is a Hangar item available for use exclusively for the Jem?Hadar Dreadnought Carrier (available for purchase in the Lobi Store). Scaling quality levels of these items will be available for purchase from the Shipyard Store, Dilithium Store, or Fleet Store only if you have obtained the both the Jem?Hadar Attack Ship and Jem?Hadar Dreadnought Carrier.

The Fleet shops have been offering a consistent amount of garbage for the most part which is railroaded down faction stereotypes.
Thus, it is exceptionally likely the Fleet pets will be the equivelent of Scorpion Fighters but using the existing hanger options for the factions.

Incidentally, I find it really stupid Cryptic would put the Jem Hadar Attack Ships in the fleet store when the Fleet is largely going to be unable to benefit from it. Since the unlock is per character, it isnt as if someone can just mount up the fighters elsewhere and the Fleet would be unable to access the ship that can mount them ANYWAY.

At least with the Andorian Phasers, the Kunmari is readily available and is an account wide unlock - Which are supposedly meant to get a Fleet version

Although... if your going to do that for Andorian Phasers... where is the fleet version of Quad Cannons ?

If they even boast one Hangar Pet for the Federation that has Mines, that will already be infinitely better then the Elite Scorpions when it comes to PVE. Hell, even giving a Peregrin Fighter a Turret or Beam Array would make it better then the Elite Scorpions.... I'm just sick of Scorpions being the "ONLY" option you have if you want to be a half way decent Carrier.

I believe every carrier pet in the dilithium store is going to have an Elite fleet version. That only excludes the Widow, which has no Advanced version.

Once fleets start getting the Tier 4 Communications Array, then the monopoly Elite Scorpion Fighters have will fade out and eventually be a thing of the past. It will be a matter of personal preference which ships are used or at least until the OP carrier pet is revealed and players will use it till that is fixed.

Imagine fleet ultra rare BoPs and Fer'Jai frigates. If you thought the Fed pets were going to be good imagine how those will be =D

T5 is a long way off for most fleets and for some reason science was the last thing anyone worked towards. Which is a shame as a lot of the really good ships have pets of some description now.

Can you imagine advanced fleet quad cannons? Dmgx8 lol, would be hilarious.

Also anyone want to see Feds get tactical escort (defiant) pets? Releases only 1 at a time (so max 4) come with quad cannons, CRF, photon torp, THY1.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

    Lol really?
To get Science experience, you need to put 90 Science and 90 Medical duty officers.
When you use the fleet starbase Science duty officer assignment thing, by the time you get 90 Science you may have 10 Medical. So how do you get the other 80 medical? From 500 fleet members doing the 2 day doff missions? lol

I think the discrepancy is from the fact that cryptic doesn't understand math. i don't see any other reasoning behind this discrepancy
