Suggestions for improving MVAM Advanced Escort and few ideas for new stuff in STO

Hello to members on forum and STO staff,

I have suggestions for improving Advanced Escort with MVAM and few ideas for improving STO.


1. My option is that Advanced Escort with MVAM is VERY UNDERPOWERED/WEAK in survivability for its price of 25$ and its representation in ST Voyager as one of Federation most advanced ship with (regenerative shields, and ablative armor).

I would like to suggest you few changes which will improve its survivability in battle but with MAINTAIN MOST of its specifications on same level.

A.) Now Advanced Escort with MVAM have place for 3 Tactical Officer (Commander, Lieutenant and Ensign), 1 Engineering and Science officer (Lieutenant & Lt. Commander Rank),

I would like to suggest next changes:
Remove Ensign tactical officer and add one Lt. Commander Engineering Officer and degrade Science officer to Lieutenant.

B.) Add one more Engineering console OR integrate MVAM Console with ship so this will free one Science console slot (Fleet version of ship will get Console automatically if Advanced Escort with MVAM is bought).

C.) Add ability to tell ship parts in from which range it need to attack enemy while it is in MVAM. (I suggest this because now we lost MVAM ship parts in explosion of enemy ship VERY OFTEN because it fly to close to it) so it have very limited usefulness now.

With this 3 changes Advanced Escort with MVAM will become more versatile and worth to be bought!


2. Add Combat Helmet as new piece of ground equipment this will be logical because we already have combat armors in STO . It can give bonus to weapons damage + rare and very rare helmets give small armor/energy resistance bonus (variations).


3. Add more locations for visit on Earth and Sol System.

A.) like Paris (where Federation President have Office), and other Earth iconic cities.
B.) Expand San Francisco with other places like Federation Council and Starfleet Command
C.) Add Mars, Utopia Plantia Fleet Yards and Mars Starbase
D.) Add Jupiter Station R&D Facility
+ and new PvE missions related to this places, such as defend Paris from Breen Attack, Evacuation of President...

4. Add NEW feature to lead space combat from ship bridge, good concept of it is already seen in Star Trek Bridge Commander, I think that this be very cool if you can add something similar into ST Online.

I also on end would suggest you to make reward system for members which give you good ideas and when you successfully add it into game, give the player who give you idea for that thing an reward (leveled very rare equipment, Dilitrium or ZEN) on this why players will be happy to provide you with good ideas.

    1 - The AE is a lovely little ship, powerful enough in the right hands.

    A - The only boff change that I would like to see is the replacement of the Tac Ensign with a Universal Ensign. Failing that, get rid of the Ensign slot and give us Commander and Lt Com tac boffs.

    B - Consoles are fine as is in my view, it's nice to have a sci based Escort for a change.

    C - Finer control over extras like the MV pets, hanger pets or saucers would be great! I'd love to see and additional UI bar with commands for them.

    2 - No strong opinions on this either way.

    3 - Agreed. The only issue is coming up for reasons to actually use those places.

    I know that on begin we will have issues with using of new locations but this can be resolved with help of community:).

    Examples:

    For begin we can remake ship buying system that it can be maded only at Utopia Plantia Fleet Yards for Federation or in Qo'noS Imperial Shipyards for Klingons.

    This is logical for me because Starbases in ST don't have role as shipyards in ST Starbases usually can make only non-major repairs on ships.

    To Starfleet Command HQ we can add role of getting new story missions, Advance in Rank and Buying of Bridge Officers (what we do now in ESD).

    Here is another variation to make Advanced Escort with MVAM more versatile.

    Don?t made any changes to Bridge Officers and ship consoles, but add passive bonus to ship kinetic resistance and bonus to shields regeneration.

    With this changes we match ship appearance from ST Voyager as one of Federation most advanced ship with regenerative shields and ablative armor.

    the Prometheus is 30 years old, theres nothing advanced about it any longer. being the most technologically advanced ship is a short lived thing, and it was never the most powerful. its as advanced as anything else in 2409 now.

    the MVAM, especially the fleet version, in no way needs any sort of buff, its second only to the bug in stats and power. once separated it has similar turn rate as a bug, the 5 tac consoles of the bug, nearly as much shield and hull hitpoints and the unique LTC sci, that can have incredibly powerful offensive or defensive potential.

    its not even that hard to use the 3rd ens sci skill, for a beam or torp skill. you really shouldn't just use all cannons, especially on the defiant and MVAM

    heres some advice i would give for anyone thinking its not up to par

    2 purple damage control doffs, and EPtS2, with ether EPtE1, EPtW1 or EPtA1. with these doffs, you have a very good chance of having full up time on both skills with only 1 copy of each.

    for sci, you should use PH1, HE2 and TSS3 for maximum survivability. since theres only really room for 1 APO on this ship, APO3, your not going to have the hold immunity other escorts might. thats where PH comes in. also useful if you have to tank it out, waiting for one of your shield heals to cycle. HE2 for a large hull heal heal and resist, and TSS3 for a large shield heal and resist.

    the rest of the doffs i would suggest a 1 warp core eng, this will boost your power levels by 25 for a wile and improve the performance of heals, shield resistance and weapons damage.

    the last 2 doffs should be shield distribution doffs, thats a large heal to shields wile your underfire.

    your best defense of all in an escort is speed. and wile separated this ship can out run and out maneuver basically anything. if an enemy escort is shooting you, fly directly above or below them, keep his DHCs from shooting at you, then you wont take damage you cant repair. its never been easier to survive in an escort, and frankly my fleet MVAM is one of the tankiest ive flown, and most dangerous.

    Escorts SHOULD be weak in survivability. The ship is fine.

    I cannot in good conscience support any proposal that would remove my MVAE's Lt. Cmdr Science station.

    Of all the "escorts" in the game, this one is one of the only ones designed for long-distance, long-term missions as far as we know (they never really talk about the kinds of missions the Akira was used for although we might suspect that it was supposed to be a strong tactical performer as well).

    Thus, it makes sense that it be equipped with significant scientific facilities and personnel. Maybe not to the extent of an Intrepid class ship, but certainly more so than a Defiant or Saber class. If anything, they should give us an ensign science officer or ensign universal officer slot. This is the ship my science officer flies in STFs.
