My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.
There are at least over 9000 more Battle Cruisers on the Cryptic whiteboard that they want to get into the game before they even look at a Sci boat.
Course, I attribute this to Cryptic being a bunch of Escortjocks that are starting to show their age - so they're flying Escorts with a little extra weight around the middle...aka Battle Cruisers.
Don't forget the Kamarag. It's got a lot more bite to it than most people might think, and plenty of tanking/lockdown/healing flexibility to go with the excellent turn rate. (I just wish it had one more tactical slot to be able to alternate two tact teams and two cannon abilities).
I agree the Feds are not happy with their Cruisers. Join the KDF ranks with you own Battle Cruiser.
I joined the KDF ranks soon as I could create one. Nothing like flying in space with a cruiser armed to the teeth with cannons and turning rates to boot. Who ever crosses my path ends up in space dust.

I do think its ridiculous how underwhelming cruisers are on the Fed side, it completely contradicts Trek imo. That being said, am thinking of rolling a Klink toon, I just wished there was more content when levelling up.

I am kind of pleased with my 7,5k DPS and 3 TacCubes tanking Ody.
Going to the KDF is like joining the Empire, Bayern M?nchen, Barcelona/Real Madrid. You can go to the OP faction, but its more fun to steamroll them with your UP ships.
And for all who think Fed Cruisers are UP, my signature gives you the answer.
Nah, just sayin' that if you want to fly awesome, damage-dealing cruisers, go join the KDF. They have cruisers that are meant for that role.
The KDF side also has much better ships for dealing damage than its cruisers. Escorts online infects the KDF as much as the federation. So all these folks tempted to switch sides, should maybe be told the virtues of flying a Bird of Prey, a Raptor or a Siege Destroyer. They'll grind through their reputation and marks and dilithium that much faster.
My Odyssey kicks plenty of nacelle. However, I do have several KDF characters as well and while I LOOOOOVE how the Vor'Cha looks (ALWAYS HAVE) my Bortasqu' is a wonderfully vicious and invincible beast that I cannot give up for one.

I actually would, in fact because of exactly those reasons you are mentioning.
Cryptic turned Starfleet ships into big target practices, with no means of fighting back. They turned Starfleet practically into a Escort Fleet, just because of their own preferences.
The Federation/Starfleet behaves more like the Peacekeepers in Farscape and almost even looks like them.
So (in STO) Starfleet lost completely it's appeal to me. If i wanted to fly small nimble space-jetfighters i would surely play some other game for sure.
The problem is the extreme RED KDF UI gets me some serious headarche after 20 minutes of playing.
So until there is a sollution for this, i hardly will play much on KDF side.

Here, here.
If you're not doing at least 5K with a cruiser, shoot the Captain.
Confirming the op admits KDF cruisers are the awesome ships that Fed cruisers should have also been.
^This.
Whenever the OP of Klingon ships are discussed in forum and it is recommended that Fed ships share the same OP stats, the response is always, "That would remove the uniqueness of the Klingon Faction."
So "Uniqueness" = "OP."
I agree that Fed Cruiser should be equivalent to Klingon Cruisers and that should bring them into more balance with the Escorts.

At least their opponents have legs to play.
In my experience, when flying SOME Starfleet Cruisers you can leave your weapons at home, it doesn't matter, lol.
... but your Bayern Muenchen example is kind of scaring but noteworthy...
The problem is in my eyes, Starfleet Cruisers are too passive and Escorts are way to fast-paced.
I have tried the Mobius but flying it is just as fast paced as an Escort. I just hate to fly around in some Jetfighter spaceship.
So, there is nothing really between Cruiser and Escorts IMO.

lol, I did just that! When rolling my KDF I thought to myself "What profession will probably be the least taken?" So I chose Sci. I have a excuse... I made the toon back when STO launched. Never figured KDF would never get any Sci ships... :P
I had to buy the Varanus & Korath lockbox ship to get a decent sci ships.
It's lvl 50 and I'm too lazy to level another KDF.

No, 'uniqueness' = 'not having factions that are carbon-copies of one another'.
As I've said before: The Federation gets the edge when it comes to escorts (and don't tell me you don't have an edge there. . .you effing do) and science ships. The KDF gets the battlecruisers.
If you folks want the awesomeness of KDF battlecruisers, you had best start loudly advocating that the KDF be given 5-tac console escorts/raptors, more flexible raptors, and a science ship class. Otherwise, you're just unbalancing the game by giving the Federation MORE toys while taking uniqueness from the KDF.
Either that, or join the KDF! We're always welcome to new warrior in our ranks.

Yeah, the KDF doesn't have a dedicated sci ship class, and the Federation also has a slight edge when it comes to escorts.
That's part of the reason why I'm loling at all the Fed cruiser captains talking about how weak their cruisers are. . .if they want DPS cruisers, they're more than welcome to join the KDF :P
Part of the point of having two factions (in my opinion) is so that each faction can have some exclusives that balance each other out and keep the factions from being carbon-copies of each other.

I am a Klingon General, so cannot be snowed by the usual denial.
The Escorts on the Klingon side, the BoPs are so OP it is unspeakable.
Feds can now experience the "Electric Slide" of the BoPs with the Kumari.
Any ship with a Battlecloak or "get away free card" as I like to call them is OP.

I'd love to play on my Klingon toons and with each "OLD" ship added to the Federation lineup it makes the KDF that much more attractive, but the UI is a deal breaker, as much as I want to play KDF, spending hours huddled in a darkened room with a blinding headache isn't my idea of fun.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
Lol. I love the red HUD that the KDF rolls. Course I am a dedicated Cylon pilot from BSGO, and that red HUD is the bomb. Sorry ladies.
I don't mind it, myself, but it is apparently an issue for a lot of folks, and keeps them from playing as much as they normally would. That's why it ought to be changed to something a little less grating, or we should have a second color scheme option that we can select. Maybe light brown/dull yellow, something a little easier on the eyes.
My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.
Yep, BoPs can make for tricky sci builds, because they can throw a wide variety of things on there. The main issue is that they don't have the innate boost to AUX, and they can't shield tank nearly as well as a sci ship.

I think what ACTUALLY keeps people from playing the KDF side is the lack thereof of ships and other content. I don't think the HUD is a large part.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
