I just picked up a mirror Prometheus for 120k EC

WHat a bargain I don't tend to pvp fed side as I find Feds don't seem to be able to pug at all but the way this thing is performing I actually prefer it to my fleet defiant(stupid Boff layout) and I'm tempted to roll the ques see what happens

It mashes the Borg(elite) like a tank over mole hills
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----

Recluse is a pretty kick-butt ship for any situation, PVP or PVE. If you want even more tanking and healing, the Odyssey is very good in that role, but if you do go that way then the 3-pack is really worth it. The Andorian on paper looks really good, but I've seen several fleetmates who've been disappointed with it and gone back to their Fleet MVAEs and Defiants and Patrol Escorts already. There's also the Regent for a top offensive cruiser, the Armitage for super-durable escort that also spits out fighters, or the Vesta as the sci ship from hell. And of course you can cheaply pull a Mirror Patrol Escort off the Exchange and get a nasty little 'change of pace' ship without spending any of your hard-earned zen.

For general PvE, pick the escort that you think looks the best. You'll be spending most of your time admiring your own ship's hindquarters silhoueted against exploding enemies.

Just 'stole' a mirror universe patrol escort for my fed/engie but it's gonna be hard to give up the breen cruiser for it. Wasn't a hard choice scrapping my M.U. star cruiser tho.

Would suggest one of the cheap mirror escorts off the exchange or get the Regent Assault Cruiser. Nice thing is you get all the Assault Cruiser skins to use with it so if the forward swept pylons aren't your thing you can make it look like a normal Assault Cruiser, plus you get the fancy 180' Quantum Launcher.

On my ENG main I run the Regent class with 6 anti-proton or disruptor beam arrays, nearly permanent EPTW going, and two quantum launchers. You can broadside and throw out some solid DPS w/o sacrificing your tankishness. There's a good vid on youtube to of a guy who has a 9k DPS Regent Assault Cruiser.

If you don't want an escort and the AC doesn't float your boat I'd say maybe try the Excelsior, I always wind up going back to that ship for some reason.

Thanks for help, i think i go charal, my engi skills should compensate a little for qsuishiness. I'm quite intrigued by regent, but i think fast escort is better for running starbase/gorn minefield.

If you're buying a C Store ship on the Federation side, buy the Armitage, regardless of your character class.

If you got the free Breen ship then that is fantastic for PVE. It's basically a heavy escort with good console slots and BOFF layout and an extra rear weapon slot.

Failing that, any escort is good. The Mirror Patrol one looks good as it is an Advanced Escort tweaked to give more engineering bias. I picked one up for 40,000EC recently. I didn't fly it as I just wanted something else for the shipyard that I could store cannons on but you get the point ... cheap as chips so why not try it? With a good build it will eat it's way through eSTFs.

For PvE just get an escort. There is nothing that does PvE faster/more efficiently.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

practically anything that has more than 12 turnrate, can load heavy cannons and has atleast 5 tac boff stations.

personally i prefer the breen ship for PVE and elite stfs, the grav well 1 very usefull in ISE.
also just load CSV and torp spread...no need for single target skills in PVE. The mass aggro resulting of it can be seen as a challenge for your skill as a player.
