17 days to May?

Last I looked the timer was just under 17 days with "May 2013" as the headline.
What is the countdown counting down to exactly? It's certainly isn't to May unless time travel is real. I probably missed some important bit of data that makes the teaser site make sense ;)

    Assuming my math is correct, the countdown ends on a Wednesday. I kind of think that may be the day that preliminary stuff from "not season 8" goes up on Redshirt, the next day being Patch Thursday and all.

    Craptic fails at calendar reading, like they fail at much else. Watch as in 17 days, they'll realize they made a mistake and it's not May yet, and have to fix the countdown. Maybe it'll happen sooner...if enough Fed players notice.

    Pretty sure if the timer was wrong it would have been fixed....pretty sure the timer is for something that will tell us what May is about.

    Stahl said there would be news in late March. This will be late March.

    it will be some reveal, a trailer, a promo page. whatever.

    you would not have a timer countdown to a patch day for content that is not fully made as you could not guarantee you'd hit the day, nor would you get it that badly wrong even if you did.

    i doubt you will even see anything hit tribble in march either, its too early unless they want to test a few smaller bits of content. it will most likely be mid april at best, maybe even early may if the content is released late may.

    As with most major updates there is some time before launch on Holodeck whereby we can test out the new stuff on the Tribble Test Server... as it has been stated that this is a BIG update might it not be the case with this?

    It's a countdown to when the teasers to the May updates begin.

    Think of it has a Teaser to the Teasers :P

    For what it's worth, I think it's the countdown to the next feature episode series, and the large content update will be when the series ends, which will probably take us up to May.

    Correct.

    We, as a community, have unlocked the T1 countdown and when it is finished we will have to input 500 million dilithium, 500 thousand entertainment provisions, 500 thousand communications arrays, and 1 billion branflakes marks to start the T2 countdown.

    Judging on how the ship releases go, the timer counts down to a screen shot.

    The day after that will be a blog about the screenshot.

    The day after that will be a blog about the blog about the screenshot with a little info.

    The day after that will be a blog about the blog about the blog about the screenshot with a little info and some further data.

    The day after that will be a blog about the blog about the blog about the blog about the screenshot with a little info and some further data and some actual numbers to look at that tell us something concrete.

    Calls for the screenshot to be nerfed will begin on the forum 38 seconds after its release. I will get another warning point for yelling at those people. Life will go on.

    The countdown is correct and ends at 6AM PST on Thursday, March 21st. What will happen then? Well... you'll just have to tune in to find out. :cool: The only hint I'll give is that if you've tuned into recent Dev interviews, you might know what it's for.

    This is the Countdown Teaser Trailer to the Actual Countdown Trailer.

    Which will then count down to the Actual Content.

    At which point BranFlakes cereal box will explode from the nerd-rage in the forums.

    1) A small amount of new content leading up to the larger May 2013 update.

    2) More actual concrete/hard information regarding the May 2013 Update and new content it will conatin.

    3) A combo of 1 and 2 above.


    That pretty much covers it. (IMO)

    no testing on tribble begins in an extendted test you get cool rewards like season 5
    if you level toons from start you get a 50 xp boost if you got doffs certian level you got 3 purple doffs

    also sto beta neverwinter test weekend for lifetimers

    Branflakes did say that the countdown ends on a Thursday, which is usually holodeck update day. My guess is that we will get a new feature episode that includes technology/assets they've been working on for May. IIRC the last FE Series hit tribble a couple weeks before it hit holodeck.

    That may be at the same time we get not-season 8 on tribble, accompanied by a slew of dev blogs and podcast interviews. That will be followed by rage threads on the forums over what broke. Which will be followed by patches that will take us up to May. So we should have not-Season 8 by end of May/ beginning of June.

    Somewhere in there I would expect a sale on Lifetime subs, ships, and zen.

    To be clear, it's just irony that it ends on Thursday and Thursday's are typically our patch days.
