Possible Builds for a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought?

Hey STO Community,

I have been gone for a long time, maybe a year and a half, came back and got myself a Temporal Destroyer and a Jemhadar Dreadnought for my Tactical Captain, (I also have an orb weaver) but I have been enjoying the dreadnought, but I want to make it a little more... worthy of elite combat.

If people could help me out, first what weapons I should use? Right now using Tachyon MK XI, MK XII, 4 dual beam banks front, 2 cannons (360) and 1 180 Torpedo launcher.

Armor I have borg set, also MK XI MACO set, also reman shields... etc. Essentially, I enjoy beams and using dual beam banks, preferably 3-4 on fore.

What pet should I use? I seem to have noticed alot of complaints about the pet that comes with the ship.

What consoles? I am using the tachyon buff consoles for tactical, one of the borg consoles, and the rest just IDK random shield and armor stuff.

Money is not an object, and the same questions go for a temporal destroyer, since its smaller, I imagine DHC? thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help!
Michael

I have my jem dreadnought in my tac character, and i'm very pleased of how it performs in combat. First thing you should have noticed is that this carrier is the most offensive of all carriers (7 weapons and 6 base turn) and also one of the most resilient (only the caitian atrox can have more shields, but much less hull). Thinking this way, you can make a very though ship with a decent damage output.
I can't open the game right now, so i will say what i remember, making one or 2 consoles a bit imprecise.

Weapons: i chose moving my weapons from my fleet star cruiser to test the dreadnought, which are romulan plasma beams accx2, the hyper plasma torp and the experimental beam, and the results were quite good even with the default pets and their lacking of damage dealing. So i have 3 beams front (one of them the experimental), 2 beams and cutting beam rear, and the hyper plasma in the remaining front slot.
dual beamsor other kind of weapons "escort-oriented" in a slow turning ship is wasting time (as the stupid people who put dual cannons on a galaxy dreadnought)

Engines, shiels, etc.: full MACO mk XII set, which make the dread even more tanky

    Consoles:
eng: 2 ablative (phaser, disruptor, tetryon and plasma resist), an isometric and eps flow regulator
    sci: 2 field gens
tac: 2 for plasma damage, zero-point and the assimilated

Hangar: advanced jem'hadar fighters. They're not the most damaging ones, but they provide good damage and a more interesting proc... also as they're only equippable here and i love its design, i finally chose them and not the elite scorpions, what were my other possible choice. So, if you don't like the jem fighters, put elite scorpions as soon as you can.

In terms of boffs and doffs, there are many possibilities, and is the most personal part of the ship. There's no ultimate boff build, only the one in which you are comfy and you perform better.

In the way i have built it, i can deal a considerable sustained damage, without many high damaging spikes, as this is not the duty of such a ship, designed to resist with a bit more offensive way than others of their class. For high bursts of damage, there are escorts :)

I expect to have helped a bit, but anyway you don't have to lose the most important point: feeling good in what you fly, despite opinions of any players.

Contrary to what some people think - as with the galaxy dread - it can be used with DHCs/Turrets easily. Just have to know how.

For PvP, beams. for STF's DHC's. I currently run all disruptors due to the proc, decimates Borg cubes. I can solo a Borg cube in STF's elites (not hive), kill them in under 30 seconds. I run full Reman set with elite scorpion pets, the Adapted Maco set is much more tanky though. All my Sci and Eng Boff's are geared towards defensive synergies. My shields drop pretty fast when using Reman set if I'm not careful. If I wasn't using the Romulan plasma torp, I'd run Adapted Maco with Borg Assimilated Shield. I've found the Jem'Dread to be a bit of a kite ship in STF's, and let the hanger pets pepper the attack. When using DHC's, I just hit the ship in reverse and shoot as the enemy follow you in. In all retrospect, you have to find your own unique play style, it took me a couple weeks to re-skill my BOFF's to the right setup for this ship... trial and error. Most prefer to use this ship as a giant escort, it works but you really have to equip/skill/trait/BOFF your setup to achieve this. Me, my reflexes are just not that quick to parlay attacks in PvP. Also, word of caution... you have a big sticker on you that says "please gang up on me" when playing PvP. Be prepared to be alpha'd a lot by 2-3-4 players at a time.
