They aren't the best anymore as long as you can't obtain all modifier varieties, but as soon as they become obtainable again they'll instantly become the king of space weapons once again. Of course that could be exactly why Cryptic is holding them back...
I still use my MK XII [Borg] legacy DHCs from pre-S7. Yes they have one useless proc, but it would be the most extreme waste possible to drop 200k dil on a new set of weapons just to get one more Acc, CritD or whatever on another weapon type.
Antiprotons are for escorts and their critical goodness, unless you are running a torpedo boat. Then Tetryons may be better.
Of course, if you like one colour-fx the best, sometimes its worth sticking to it just for the cool looks like I did to Antiprotons before the increased crit chance made them viable again.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
