All of you know the situation about KDF. Cryptic doesn't treat us fairly. Cryptic doesn't give equal representation. And now Cryptic is ready to insult all of KDF player making a new playable faction named "romulan s**ker".
We don't get unique ship since a long time. Federation got 9 ships 3 packs of 3 for each class. And Klingon got nothing.
We have less uniform.
Everything is more expensive for klingons.
We have less unique episode, and most of episode are copy/paste from fed.
We have less species.
We have less fixs but we have more bugs (First City has hole, and some maps are unfinished).
We lost our unique consoles for crappy fed consoles.
Anyway! Why are we still playing klingon? What's the reason we are still playing Klingon?

-You're not getting more ships because they don't sell well on KDF side. If people were so interested in KDF ships they would sell and Cryptic would be making more. They don't so end of story. Do you expect them to put so much time, effort and money into something that will not make them any return?
-Playable Romulan faction hasn't even really been confirmed. They also said it's not coming in May. May is a content expansion.
-The May content expansion has been said to have a huge amount of KDF only content and probably a good amount of episodes. Just wait for it.
-You don't have as much uniform selection because in the tv shows and movies KDF Klingons mostly dressed in the same 4-5 costumes. Blame ST canon for that not cryptic.
-How is everything more expensive for Klingons? If you mean the exchange then that's player driven and has nothing to do with Cryptic.
-Some of the consoles you get from Fed side are amazing. Defense point console is probably better than anything you get from the Klingon side for the feds.
-Less species? Again blame ST canon. Federation had open arms for anyone to join. KDF only have those they conquered and they can only conquer so much.
-Since about a year ago, the episodes are open to both sides. Why would they make KDF only episodes when they can just bring out content both sides can enjoy?
Don't get me wrong, I want KDF content as much as the other guy. And even the Execs at Cryptic stated they wanted to see more for the KDFs, but people need to learn patience and wait and see what they have in store for May.

Maybe because they like Klingon? By most Klingon accounts their ships are superior. Better cruisers, BoPs, etc.
I won't say "it's their own fault" when it comes to new ships, but part of the reason Cryptic hasn't released a lot of KDF ships is that no one was buying them. Part of the reason for THAT is that KDF free ships (and some C-store ships) are superior, and many regard their stuff as superior to the newest ships. I've only ever seen a single Marauder on KDF side, and never ever seen a Gorn Varanus. You could say the problem is that those ships suck, but given some of the behavior on the forums and some folks claiming to know what KDF players want, many KDF players only want ships that play like the ships they already have (lockbox ships aside).
It's true that the treatment has been unequal by a large margin, but the only true factor that will change that is if the faction becomes profitable. It's a chicken and egg issue. Should Cryptic invest in Klingons in the hopes of satisfying a hard-to-satisfy minority, or cater to a more easily satisfied (and profitable) majority?
Also, how are the Romulans an insult? Many players, KDF ones included, have been demanding playable Romulans for ages. And we don't know anything about what's going to happen. It might not even be a "true" faction, and just a feature episode, race unlock, and new ship selection.
I like playing KDF because I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon.

We've been smothered in Federation BS throughout the TV series. We've seen it alll before and are doing so again in game's storyline. KDF is unique, there was much less KDF content in the series and what was featured in the series were pretty awesome episodes.
There is so much content that cryptic/PWE could create for the KDF if they ever got creative and stopped feeding the federation fanboys.
Because KDF have the Gorn, and I like lizards almost as much as I like sharks.
Because I like biting people in the face, knocking them down with the butt of my pulsewave disruptor shotgun and blasting them to Gre'thor as they stagger to their feet.
Because I like, nay, love my Tac Bortasqu' - the Tyrannosaurus rex of battlecruisers.
Because I like to get away with doing evil things, like abducting Vulcans and selling them to Orion slavers.
Because I like beaming down on away missions surrounded by scantily-clad Orion females.
Because I like to feel invincible, even when I'm the underdog.
Because when you mix one part Saurian brandy, one part Romulan ale, two parts Cardassian Kanar and three parts bloodwine together you get... I forget what Jane called it. But it really gets you *****-faced in a hurry, and I like it.
And because I like Klingons. I like everything about them. The language, the history, the music, the mating rituals, the whole unworldly brutality of the culture.
Whenever people on the forums try to get me down because KDF is "half a faction" and will never be finished, I just have to log on General Ssharki and everything feels better. I am a Gorn general authorized by the Klingon High Council to take out the biggest, battlecruiser in the KDF fleet and go marauding through any sector of space I want to. I have got nothing to complain about.
Sure, things could always be better, and its nice to dream of better things. In real life I dream of someday trading in my twenty-year-old Nissan for a Ferrari. But I like my Nissan. I'm happy with it for now. And in STO, I really like General Ssharki and IKS Norgh'a'Qun, and I'm happy with the Empire as it is for now.

... Also, for some reason, flying a Federation vessel simply doesn't satisfy me in the long run. They lack a certain quality which I find in most Klingon designs. An aggressive edge. Escorts come close, but not quite. I think it is the fact they do not really look like warships no matter how I arm them. Klingon ships always look like warships.
The user formerly known as Khern!
I hate the fact Perfect World force-joined STO and PW accounts...
I feel that KDF players are more mature and the community is much closer.
Again with that. No, KDF players don't come form another planet, they are not more mature or less mature, no more pro and no less pro. KDF players are nothing but nerdy geeks, like any other ST fan, that happen to like the stinky aliens. :P Thats all.
Cooler ships, cooler uniforms, cooler races, cooler homeworld, and I don't feel like the standard MMO "shoot first and ask questions never" style of gameplay that this game tends to fall back on really fits all that well with the Federation in a post-TNG setting. Playing KDF solves that particular dilemma nicely.
Yes, the Fed side has much more playable content, but the reason why i play KDF, is simple. I want to be free, not part of the establishment!
Also, just imagine, with all the extra ships, weapons, playable content and other stuff that the Feds have and the KDF don't, then why do you find the feds moaning about KDF all the time? Simple, its because WE RULE!
The Fleet Tor'Kaht is the mean reason I'm still playing a Klingon. I started the Klingon as a something new to do (after maxing out two fed characters), but the klingon battle cruisers kept me here.
If there was a fed ship with 4/4 weapons, a Cmdr engineering slot, two Lt tactical slots, and a Lt science slot that could actually turn, I'd switch back to playing a fed. The problem is that the only fed ship with that loadout is the Odyssey, and I can't stand the 4 turn rate.
I like my klingon, but the fact that Cryptic treats klingons like dog**** makes me want to switch over to playing a fed character for better content going forward.

- D-7, B'Rel, Vor'Cha, Negh'Var and Raptor. Pretty much all the canon ships are there, which is all I really "need".
- At least for my Klingon characters I have pretty much have all the uniforms I need. Every KDF "core"-species has their own, unique uniform choices for free, Feds only get Starfleet.
- what exactly is more expensive? Last time I checked, everything except for blue & purple doffs was exactly the same price.
- Since I rarely replay episodes, no problem for me. As far as faction specific episodes go, KDF-ones are way more epic than those of their counterparts.
- most of the important bugs are really cross-faction.
- I always thought I got the better deal on KDF-side. I get more use out of AM-Spread, Point-Defense and ICC then from a Bio-Neural warhead.
Pro-KDF:
much, much better doffing:
- more contraband than i can ever use up
- 4 star clusters in the home sector
- ~25-30 doff vs. dilithium turn-in missions.
- 11 3-crit trait asylums for the "core"-species, feds only get 3.
- much, much better prices on the exchange when selling blue/purple doffs.
The only thing that gets the Feds an edge in my opinion is that their UI is much easier on the eyes.
Again with that. No, KDF players don't come form another planet, they are not more mature or less mature, no more pro and no less pro. KDF players are nothing but nerdy geeks, like any other ST fan, that happen to like the stinky aliens. Thats all.
This. Considering that every player gets one KDF and one Fed slot nowadays, and that there is no restrictions or boundaries between the two factions, the overlap is very, very big. So as much as some people like to refer to "Fed players" the Fed and KDf communities are pretty much composed of the same people.
I like playing KDF because I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon.

My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.
1) I have been a Star Trek fan for all of the 40 yrs of my life. As a kdf, I can pretend this game is Star Trek
2) cheaper to play kdf
3) marauding
4) nothing looks like an apple store
5) fireplace in the starbase and knives coming out of stairs mean that the kdf don't have building inspectors nor an active system of litigation.
- As has said before the shooting stuff instead of diplomacy fits well here.
- The star ships in general have a much more starship like appearance to me, and i like having visible guns on the wings.
- I can feel happy killing Defari instead of bartering to rescue them.
- Gorns and Orions are much cooler looking species than boring old humanity, including vulcans.
- Cloaking devices on Battlecruisers make you feel like you are actually preparing for a battle when heading in.
- Cheaper to play as less inclination to buy zen. Devs never make ships for them and if they do, they generally go for ones which are nerfed into oblivion prior to launch, ie no turn, reduced cloak, unable to protect itself with shields by transferring shield consoles to science which KDF never have, etc. Personally I have always asked for a KDF Raptor or BoP yet we always get a cruiser.
Imho devs just need to make KDF accessible from lvl 1 and make kdf even more offensive than the feds because klingons are no peacekeepers flying cruisers, and maybe make a few new design improvements like hairstyles really >>we are so in need of them<< .
BTW I play most of the time on the FED side, but time to time I switch to my KDF toons because my eyes hurt from the brightness of the blue and shiny FED side
I'm sorry but I have to completely disagree that the KDF players are more mature. The only onther time I've EVER seen so much whining about a video game was the ending for mass effect 3.
Spend 15 minutes on ESD, then spend 15 minutes on Qo'nos and the more mature demographic will become plainly obvious...
You've also confused the word "whining" with "reasonable consumer complaints"... When Forbes, Fox News, ABC, MSNBC, USA Today, and BBC News all cover overwhelming consumer backlash over a company's misrepresented product, the company is at fault and expected to make some sort of ammends... However, when those consumers are mostly in the 18-25yr demographic and the product is a video game, somehow it becomes "whining"... Cool combination of logical fallacies, bro...
Dude quit whining about KDF ships seriously. I play both factions and i can assure you anything KDF far exceeds federation for quality. Perfect example would be the kdf command cruiser vrs the odesy, command cruisers wins hands down. And why are you whining about feds getting a andorain? As one of the SUCKERS who bought this piece of junk i can assure you it was just another thing for us to waste money on the ship absolutely SUCKS it is so paper thin you cant live through more than 3 seconds of pvp, the consoles are entirely useless, and despite 5 fore weapons the thing has less dps than the fleet patrol, would you rather then sell you junk kdf ships? The whole argument about no new kdf ships is simple..YOU DONT NEED ANY. Go into a pvp random pug arena 99.9% of the time the kdf win hands down without competition. Why BECAUSE KDF SHIPS AND GEAR IS FAR FAR BETTER THN FED. So quit crying about it. Seriously get a fleet ship and go kill every andorain escort u see(should only take 1 of ur 4 disruptor dhc to do the job) and feel better knowing your NOT a sucker who just bought THE WORST ship cryptic has ever released.

Feds are really having problems with logical fallacies lately... KDF beat Feds in PVP; therefore, KDF ships are superior to Feds... Obviously it's the only logical explanation... It's impossible it could be anything else...
I play KDF because they have the sexiest ships in the universe.
