Request for Fleet Starbase

Additional costume pieces to the Fleet Starship tailor.

For instance; a Starbase project to unlock a new style of Nacelle for your ship, once the project is completed you can buy the Nacelle for that character for 20,000 Dilithium (or whatever the cost is for the Fleet uniform)

This could also include new skins, saucer sections, hulls, etc. maybe this could also tie in with the Embassy themes, a "Romulan green" glowing nacelle for example.

Currently, you can customise most ships with a limited amount of preset parts. To design your own new parts would require the software and skill (and permission) in order to do it.

What they could do is widen the range of preset ship parts/skins/colours and have some parts as "fleet only". This would still be a massive job to create, but its not impossible.

I like the idea of changing the colour scheme, as for my BoP, i would love a dark metallic blue, but i have a choice of green, greyish brown, or a very light grey/blue, which is not much choice!

I think skins are more the answer, I mean what sort of Nacelle can you design to fit a Galaxy and a Defiant?

That's very true, it wouldn't be an overnight job that's for sure. But if they did do this a year down the line every ship would be covered.

Apparently it doesn't take too much to create a small single peice for a ship, but fitting a series of ships together does. The Vesta and Kumari lines for example shows how subtle the choices are compared with the "old" cruisers that were available back in 2010.

I seem to remember one of the Devs saying that a goal for the Fleet Starbases was to enable the Fleets to create their own types of ships at some point in the future, it would be great to start releasing the ship parts and skins
