When are we going to see sector space opened up into one big area? I think this would add tremendously to the realism of the game.
I would love to be able to cruise the galaxy from the Orias system all the way to the Mylasa sector without being prompted to change sectors. Of course, when it is done, the galaxy map is going to have to be changed to a more realistic layout too, instead of the big jump from Eta Eradani to the Deferi sectors.
Its been talked about for a while now. Big areas dont seem to be an issue, New Romulus is a very big map, so when are we going to see this happen?
And also, I was wondering if we are going to see a revamp on the Sol System sometime soon. I know it can be made to look more realistic.
We already saw this suggestion 1-2weeks ago. And before that, about once a month.
It's very difficult for them to do so. They wish they can, and hope to do it one day.
Same for sol system, adding the others planets etc, is a tremendous work, and would ask to much for our computer. Also, it's not priorities. Others sol system planets would be social area only.
Put it this way; there's about 70 people max that can fit on any social map, sector space included. Even if you double that its 140 spread throughout the entire single map, in short you'll never see anyone in this mmo.

I actually wouldnt mind seeing a little less traffic in sector space. Would make it seem more open, larger, and more real.
Space is a very big place after all.
As for the other comment, I don't really care about the other planets of the Sol System, I was just speaking more generally about Earth orbit.
It really could be made to look more realistic, especially since the Sun is just a glowing ball and the moon is too close and looks fake, so does Earth.
Yes I know they have talked about it, but there has been no update on it in a long time.
It is one of the improvements that I would REALLY like to see. As I said, given that they are able to create huge maps such as New Romulus, it should be possible to do, even if there is a limit of only 70 per zone or so.
70 ships spread out over the entire galaxy map would add some much needed space to... space... and add realism to the game.
The only places where you would likely see multiple ships would be near the hubs in the game, ie Sol System, K7, DS9, etc., which would be more real to me.
When they were sailing the seas on Earth a few hundred years ago, there were a lot of ships out there, but what are the chances you would pass close enough to SEE another ship on the open sea? The only time you really saw other ships was near ports.
