I managed over time to acquire an assault cruiser, kitted her out with all I could at my rank (Rear Admiral, Lower Half), but, I can't seem to find an impulse engine that can travel faster than transwarp 10 in sector space, I've seen other players flash by me and there I am just trotting along at transwarp 10, and when I asked on my fleet channel, all I got was "borg", borg what?, On the exchange, I used the "impulse Engine" filter and using "borg" as a search, but I found nothing.

What is the precise asset name for the borg engines that (presumably) can travel faster than transwarp 10 in sector space?

At present, there are two engines that can allow you to exceed Transwarp 10:

The first are the Assimilated Subtranswarp Engines. These are obtained only through the Omega reputation system and allow you to travel at Transwarp 14 in sector space, regardless of your warp coil quality.

The second are the M.A.C.O. Impulse Engines. These are also obtained only through the Omega reputation system, increase your driver coil skill by a fair amount (equivalent to one yellow bar), and allow you to reach up to Transwarp 20 with maximum coil skill.

Aside from the two that I have listed, there is a third option in the form of the Omega Force Hyper-Impulse Engines, which cuts Slipstream Drive recharge time down to half.

This feature is actually bugged at present (and has been for a while), it doesn't actually work.

    Whew, dodged a bullet then.

I was planning on getting one for my cruiser.

But then, it's such a shame...

I actually am planning on getting this engine for my Vesta. I wanted it with the Vesta 2-piece set that increases speed and turn rate in Quantum Slipstream.

Wow. They need to fix that. Why are bugs like this ignored for so long? It's not like the Omega Force Set is new by any means.

Not quite. Assimilated Subtranswarp Engines have Transwarp 14, M.A.C.O. Engines have Transwarp 13, and Fleet Engines have Transwarp 12. These engines replace your normal maximum warp of 10 with the given base Transwarp speed. Once you've gone crossed the Warp 10 threshold by any means (M.A.C.O./Fleet engines' Asynchronous Warp Field, the Borg Subtranswarp, or Quantum Slipstream), Driver Coil modifies your maximum Transwarp speed, just as it did with your maximum Warp speed before you ever hit the Warp 10 barrier.

Normally, the Assimilated Subtranswarp Engines are the fastest warp speed available. However, due to the M.A.C.O. Driver Coil bonus, those are faster in Slipstream.

I am using the [Advanced Fleet Combat Impulse Engines Mk XII [Turn]x3 [Spd]] which allow me to fly around at close to Warp 17.02 (of course I have invested points into Driver Coils as well, but what can ya do). Quantum Slipstream gets me up to close to Warp 30 when activated.

    M.A.C.O. Impulse Engines Mk XII
    Very Rare Impulse Engine
    Bind On Pickup
    Vice Admiral
Values do not reflect skills or other modifiers

    +8.8 Starship Driver Coil

    +12.5 Flight Speed

    +6.4 Flight Turn Rate

Thrusters: 25% speed when engines are disabled
While in sector space, your Asynchronous Warp Field allows a movement speed exceeding Warp 14. The maximum speed is modified by your Driver Coil skill.
    Full Impulse

    All Power to Engines

    +101 Flight Speed
    Diverts all power to engines

    6 points in driver coil.

Mk XI Borg Engines: 19.88 in sector space. 28.01 at Slipstream
Mk XII MACO Engines: 19.08 in sector space. 33.04 at slipstream

As you can imagine, my Odyssey does quite well at the Tour the Universe Event.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Hmmm, so either way, I would still have to get to Vice Admiral (50) to go beyond transwarp 10, Even though my driver coil skills are maxed out?

From what I understand, you max out at Warp 10 without any special transwarp engines. So my Klingon KDF tac alt has 6 points in Driver Coil but only does Warp 10 as the KHG Impulse Engines don't have a bonus in sector space travel. If he uses the Assimilated Transwarp Engines, then he goes from Warp 10 to Warp 19.88 in sector space.
