I find it amusing that the KDF continues to get no new ships.
Oh I know the rehash fleet ships have been added and we get access to the lock box ships. But I am unable to buy a new ship on the C-store. The last ship offered to me from Cryptic was the craptastic Bortasqu'.
I understand the dev cost isn't being returned for Klingon ships. But I personally did buy several of the ships when the last and only major group of klingon ships hit the c-store.
I am willing to give money to F2P games (recently spent on Firefall and Blacklight Retribution). This game is fun to play for free but there is nothing of value for a Klingon to spend money on.
It is sad that the Klingons were rushed at launch and we have never been able to recover from the lack of content, costumes, ships, and Dev love.
The Devs have said as many as 20 new ships are inbound over the year, hopefully some will be for the KDF.
If not then we point and laugh at the poor feds, so eager for some new vessel to prop up thier egoes in relation to how green they think the grass is on our side of the shipyard.

I don't think that kdf will get anything good from current team.
The last c-store ship Bortas'q is something like :" give them 5 tactical console and a turn rate so they can't use it".
There is the story of Tantalus in greek mithology and for me bortas'q reminds me about that.
"There already is a Borg faction, its called the Federation. They assimilate everyone else's technology and remove any biological or technical distinctiveness and add it to their own."

Truth is and has always been, cryptic doesnt want our money.
They release the most ridiculous ship of all time, the bortasq, and wonder why nobody bought it. Then they say it was because there isn't enought kdf to buy stuff so what is the point.
Again, cryptic should be proud to create the worst faction in mmo history and continue to starve it.

Please forgive my ignorance as that ship was released at a time I was taking a break from the game. Having never flown one or know anyone who has flown one what are the issue with the Bortasq?
How the Devs see Star Trek, apparently:
Star Trek: The Original Grind
Star Trek: The Next Grind
Star Trek: Deep Space Grind
Star Trek: Voyage to the Grind
I just parked my fleet K't'inga refit (sniff, what a lovely lovely ship) and picked up the Fleet Tor'Khat battlecruiser (I hate the tor'khat skin...ewww..fortunatly that can be changed) ((note..Tor'Khat availible from a tier 2 ship yard!!!!)) (((fleet Kamarag availible from atier 3 yard)))
so I got my self a 10 console battle cruiser, with a base turn mode of 10, lots and lots of hull points, cloaks, can mount dual cannon, and utterly TRIBBLE loads of power, and sports Lt. Commander TAC slot, and a Lt universal slot...
So, lets see... its big, manuverable, packs a punch, versitile, has very heavy shielding, and I'm supposed to be worried about some fed in a Kumari varient? I don't even PvP that much and I 'll be able to kill even a well handled one without to much difficulty.
As some one mentioned.. oh so close to a BOP, but.... not quite...nope, not quite.
We have ships to buy.
But just not directly from the Z-store. You just need to be in a fleet with a tier 3 ship yard to get pretty much all of them. Get your fleet ship modules, and have fun. And some ships don't require the modules if you've allready got a Z-store ship purchased. (the one BOP is discounted if you bought the tactical Bortas or the Bortas pack, and for that matter the base Bortas if you didn't get it originally in the 2nd anniversery mission)
(I think a couple ships require the tier 5 ship yard but I forget which on KDF side)

I suddenly got the impression that the Bortas that comes with the Hohsus console might've given a discount on the Hohsus. Would've been nice. Also would've make me consider buying that big hulk after all; I like the idea of the flagships, but not their turn rates...

Hey, hey, HEY! What about the Breen cruiser. Hmmm?
Yeah, they NERFED IT, but I still thinks she's awesome.
actually the kumari is proof that if cryptic is going to give you 5 up front and 5 tac consoles, they are going to give you a useless third tac boff and only 3 non tac boff abilities in total ie. pure glass cannon
think about this before any kdf considers requesting a 5 up front bop. it wont likely have universal stations.
Looking at the stats for the Tor'Khat, just now, and playing around with the skills planner.
How viable would it be to run that ship without a sci slot?
I tend to run HE2 and TB1/TSS1/PH1 in my ltnt sci's, but with a cmdr+ens eng one could, I suppose, Run Aux2Sif3, EPtS1x2, RSP1 and Eng Team3 for heals.
That way you could run TT1 (doff-boosted), CRF1x2, THY1x2, APO1, APB1. That could be interesting, potentially... (disregarding the ET/TT-overlap; one could manually distribute/RSP for 15 secs, I guess)

IMHO, if you consider a ship without a sci ability you are already dead.
Lotsa good stuff not on shared cooldown
Oh, I know - I like my sci skills a lot, both the heal/resists and the cc/debuffs.
It was more of a thought experiment - thinking out of the box, like.
Getting a tac layout like that on a battlecruiser with 4 tac consoles, well, it intrigued me.
i would pay for a new 3 pack for my kdf tac guess im just going to wait for my fleets tier 4 ship yard to fill with dilith and complete so i can get the fleet Hoh'sus.

I got the Tor'Kaht a couple days ago and now I fly nothing else. It is truly a nasty machine that can dish out the dmg and take it on the chin as well. I had my fastest Infected Conduit Elite run the other day, 12 mins left on the clock. The lineup was 2 Tor'khat cruisers, 2 Fed cruisers, and 1 Fed flying a Jem Dreadnaught Carrier. The 2 Tor'khat's, I was in one of them, were what caused all the destruction. We literally mowed down anything in our path. At the end the Fed in the Jem Dread took credit for our quick finish, this was the same guy who spent most of the match respawning. Anyway I reccomend this ship to those who like unleashing utter destruction on the enemy, the only fault I found with it was the brakes are a bit soft so start stopping well before you normally would. The first time I flew one I went charging in at a cube at full impulse and before I could get stopped I was face to face with it, which wasn't really a big deal in this ship since I could dish it out better than the cube could.
Another Fleet ship you could try is the Fleet Scrouge Destroyer, a really fast ship with decent wep power, +10 to engines and weps. It has a pretty good turn rate as well, a rating of 17.
The Bortasqu' is a pure TRIBBLE, there's no mystery, if they lost money on it it's because it's a cruiser with very poor stats!
They should take a look at their metrics. Most of the KDF chars i see are tacs. Tacs, and more tacs, everywhere. Most of them flying tac ships (and a lot of carriers too). Maybe it's not "profitable enough" to release cruisers, but escorts should be ok. Because we need that %$^?* 5 tac consoles + cloak raptor, just to make the balance with the horrible glass cannon the fed just got. Or at least a super aggressive Ferasan Carrier with a cool turnrate.

Kuiama Del Solima
House of Khemaraa
Wait, what?
The tac Bortas gives the discount on a fleet BoP?
Which one?
*perks ears*
Thats the ONLY fleet ship upgrade discount that exists for the KDF as far as I know.

You forgot the Fleet Varanus.;)
hmm, looks new (1-13-2013) but the discount scheme for KDF is such a new concept for us.

There's a quote from spock* from the 6th film..

Dunno what your drinking ;p
It's actually on Holodeck since November 30th

Hmpf. No wonder KDF spending lags behind Fed spending.
You Sir have given me hope. Cheers!
