Lightheated thread: How do you organise your bank?

topsettopset Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I'm sick of reading all of the nerdrage "I DEMAND AN ANSWER FROM CRYPTIC ABOUT BUG X" threads, they get pretty tiresome after a while. Here's something a little more lighthearted.

What do you keep in your bank, and how do you keep it organised?

Myself, I'm an avid doffer and crafter so a lot of my bank space is dedicated to samples, traces and commodities. That's the only section of my bank I'm happy with.

The rest is just a mess of weapons and unique items, I'm hoping to get some inspiration on how to sort it all out from you guys :P

Here's my bank:

Apart from the sort button, there is no way to organize your bank other than manually.
TBH, I've gotten so tired of organizing it that I just hit the sort button every so often. The grind is so tough in this game, as is, that I don't have time to sit there for 30 minutes every day organizing my bank. It's been 3 years of development and all we've gotten for the bank was a "sort" button. Cryptic should have redone the bank in the same season fleet starbases were introduced so that commodities would get their own section that is separated from everything else. Pets and tribbles need their own sections, as well.

Ah, I think you misunderstood me.

I didn't mean logistically how do you sort it, I'm well aware the only way is manually - I meant how do you *like* it to be sorted - the sort button is horrible, I agree :D

It's mostly traces, commodities, and space and ground sets for myself a few boffs. I don't have space for anything else.

    bank?
    Sort button all the way!

inventory, stuff that i keep is moved to the bottom, everything i pick up automatically fills in on top and is sorted out and sold to vendor later.

Account Bank... uhm no system really i just use it often to move anomalies all to one character, have the Gamma Quadrant commodities in there and save my Contraband in there, so my various Chars can grab is as needed.

By now i have all Bank / Account-Bank / Inventory / DOff - Slots maxed out for all 10 characters too (Zen is so cheap at the moment...)

in my bank my best stuff and special items are at the top. from left to right. really rare items go up here, for example, lobi. during events like winter wonderland i will keep stuff up here.

next down is ship weapons by type.

    then weapon consoles by type.

    next is other consoles organized.

    personal weapons.

    personal items.

next are "temporary" items i am saving like material from defera.

ship shields are at the bottom. i stack sets again from left to right.

my account bank is used for long term storage, for example, ships i am hoarding in hopes prices will go up.

I did much the same thing with the data samples and commodities. Sorted by color, helps to figure out what I'm missing if I run out of any. And I also keep the Contraband in account bank. My Klingon collects it, starts up a "Turn Over Contraband", then deposits in Account bank. I can then switch to Fed, retrieve it, and do the same thing.

Move the EV suits onto Boffs that you don't actually use for Ground. When you find you need them, you can just pull them off those Boffs. This is also the case for any other ground gear you may want to keep handy, but not have cluttering up space.

Unused ships are also a good place to stash ship weapons and gear, but they're a little harder to get to since you need to be at a Shipyard.

What's in my bank, I try to group according to what it is. STF/Set gear is together, and grouped by set. Misc. non-standard gear is together (Breen Rapid Reload and Cluster Torps, Bioneural, etc), as is standard gear (consoles, standard blue/purple weapons) Then I have a row of fun and amusing things like pets and party poppers.

I have an enormous pile of samples I'm too lazy to do anything with on the bottom left, above the samples are the regen/spare parts. On the far right is my booze -- if I didn't keep it there the ******n tribbles would drink it all. I swear if any of them TOUCHES my Romulan ale...

... anyway, then up top on the right you got your contraband, your rare goods such as incense and lockets, and leftover skill buffs/doff packs/equipment from lockboxes. Dumped a couple spare tribbles out of harm's way in my account bank.

I agree about particles and PT: by color.

After that I use the square grids to keep things organized. For example: the bottom row would be for items purchased for the next level (I'm now 29, at 30 I'll go to the bank and pull all the Mk8 gear I've got waiting).

The row above the Mk8 gear is for crafting schematics (if any). The top row is for highly important stuff like the Aegis Set I have waiting for when I make 40 and other super rare things I don't want to trash but either can't use (yet) or has some sentimental value or even requires a little more research on whether to keep or not.

I still kick myself for trashing the leftover Winter Event stuff because I wanted room in the bank ...

Mine is totally full of commodities, lockboxes, keys, and mirror ships. Lockboxes on the left, a couple ships I'm holding underneath those. Common commodities on the right, rare commodities under those. Odd items like Alien Artifacts or whatever in the bottom right area.

I dump all that common crafting garbage into the fleet bank because crafting is stupid and pointless. If others want to waste their time on making green Mk VIII phasers more power to them.

I sell the rare crafting Particle Traces on the exchange. It finances all of the above.

I usually split it into four quaters, one for particle traces and data samples, another for consumables, another for ship equipment and the other for ground equipment. Doesn't always work out like that mind, but I try lol.

Mine is a horrible mess. I have a pile of data samples and crafting schematics that I'm keeping for some reason, in addition to unique mission rewards, sets and rare consoles I'm not using, a pile of unopened ships in boxes, winter jackets I'm going to eventually sell.

I also have some unmelting snowballs, a bio-thermal dampener, and a fire extinguisher that I plan on trolling random people with sometime mid-summer. I'm probably going to go to DS9 or Drozana and knock down a Klink with the snowball, hit him with the bio-thermal dampener, and then use the fire extinguisher on him. I'm trying to think of a good one-liner to yell at him too.

A row of special consoles, handy mission rewards I might want to use someday, and party poppers along the bottom.

Traces and samples in the upper left quadrant (spreading down as required).

Consumables, tokens, crystals, and such like in the upper right quadrant (spreading down as required).

Anything else I want to put in there just goes wherever it will fit; or, alternatively, sits in my inventory while I swear a lot and contemplate donating all my crafting stuff to my fleet to make room (may as well, I never get around to using it anyway).

Yeah I do this, it's easy to get stuff because I have a tuffli and can access it whenever I need it!

Particles by colour, yeah. The rest I try to sort by item type... ground, space, sets, etc. Lobi or leftover winter event stuff in a corner somewhere.

I almost never put anything in the middle, it all tends to ground around the sides. Just a thing that I do.
    Relax.

I tend to do things in a methodical way.

I sort Rare Particle traces in alphabetical order from A to V

Data samples are organized by groups and rarity

When organizing Fleet Banks this method is also applied.

Due to storage limitations - no uncommon (Green) items are stored - and the more desirable uncommons are sold on the exchange.

The exception to the Uncomon rule, are stuff like Romulan ale etc.. that are needed for starbase progression. We house every type of commodity for the sole purpose of starbases.

Only rare XI to XII and Very Rare Purple with a perfect XI or XII are allowed in the Fleet Bank - anything inferior in the roman numeral department is sent to the exchange or replicated for Energy Credits.

Things like Doff packs, Mirror ships, special Lock Box items are stored - for give aways, prizes in Fleet events etc...

Since I am in charge of Fleet supplies, aside from our Main Fleet Bank, I am also in charge of an auxillary Fleet that serves as the Main Fleet Depot.

There we have tons of crafting items - Crafting is still viable for equiping recruits with decent gear - we do stear away from high cost Crafting items like Aegis sets.

Though we do craft Aegis set, its per request only and the player must provide the materials that are bought with Dilithium.

Data samples by level from top-to-bottom in the rightmost columns, particle traces below that, and gamma commodties on the bottom. When I pop open my inventory window, it's immediately to the right of the bank window so I don't have far to drag the bits.

The left side is bound equipment by category/set, with fluff on the bottom (vanity pets, poppers, winter event equipment, and all those reward ships that I'll never use: Oddy/Bort, Cheli, Galaxy)

Every toon is set up the same so I don't have to rethink when I switch toons... OCD, but effective.

As with others, I used to put my data samples at the top, sorted by color.

then I worked my was down, with personal consumables, ship consumables and then ship consoles, weapons.

But, i know run my own fleet, and I have all 7 repositories open.

So, I moved data samples and particle traces form all my characters to the Fleet bank.
I also moved ship consumables and lock boxes form all characters to the Fleet.

I've added rows to my account bank as well, and that is a huge mess, really need to clean that one up.

So now, all my characters have at the top, commodities. Followed by personal consumables for the rep system.

Then personal items that are character bound. then ship itmes that are also character bound.

The account bank has items that are account bound so I can give to my alt characters when they reached the correct level.

So, I've been managing three different banks... wow!

My ingame bank is much like my real life one. There's never anything in it :P

Seriously though, I usually use the bank for samples, schematics, later tier weapons I can't equip yet and lockboxes.
