My guess is that it will have 3x fore , 2x aft and 1x per side weapon slots. Guess it makes using DHCs a bit useless for an escort.
I really hope these broadside slots will make weapons into 360? arcs...I could also live with 180 arcs but 360 arc swould be awesome. Would even make up for a not existing console.
One of the things I've kind of been wanting are odd firing angles, like you'd get in the old Starfleet Command games. It's nice to see them taking a crack at it.
If the Kumari gets broadside slots, I could see setting it up with single cannons to take advantage of their 180 degree firing arc. It wouldn't have as much broadside power as a cruiser and less forward firepower than most escorts, but it could deal decent enough damage at multiple angles and still concentrate a good amount of firepower into the forward and rear arcs.
They never said it was a broadside ship. There already are broadside ship ingame, they are called cruiser, with beam array. Broadside cannons would be useless, both in pve and pvp. The escort is fast, and able to shoot while pursuing a target, or flying close, because the escort need to be close for max damage. While the same escort using broadside cannons will have to turn 180? each time he want to shoot or move. It will be impossible to flyby, or shoot and fly, which is all a cannon escort can do.

I've never understood the appeal of these so called *broadside* ships...like you said we already have broadsiding. Broadsiding with cannons would be so awkward I don't even know how to put it in words.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

It's complicated to explain how they would do it no doubt, but I don't think these will be broadsiding cannons in the conventional sense, I believe they may be side mounted spinal lances, the andorians are more on the military side so maybe it's what they are gonna do.
but since it would be a three pack, who knows, maybe it has 5 fore slots 2 aft and a nifty console/weapon/special gear set to make it all fit together.

These escorts do not have broadside weapons.
It might be a console which changes the axis of the ship from horizontal to vertical and lets you fire all eight weapons from broadside but imo broadside dual cannons wouldn't be worth it.
Based on the model it also might be 5/2, 6/1 or 7/0 ship.
For broadside duals to be worth it, you'd probably need 10 weapon slots.
4 on port, 4 on starboard, 1 rear, 1 fore.
And, man, oh, man, would I ever be interested in seeing the builds that would emerge that would be based around wider arc weapons like the Sovvie Refit arc torpedo, Ferengi missile launchers, or the people who say, "To heck with it! I do all my damage from the left side!" and use 4 side cannons and 6 turrets.

These escorts do not have broadside weapons.
So the andorian ship will not have broadshide.
I just saw this. Still doesn't mean they won't break the 4/4, 4/2, 3/3 paradigm.
Could be, for example, 6 fore and no rear weapon slots.
So I was bored and decided to try and figure out what the Andorian console slots will probably look like. This is based on the previous bundled ships, so if the devs decide to go in a completely different direction, I will be completely off mark.
Didnt read the whole thread, but Im predicting Single Heavy Cannons to come with ships. Maybe the 3 pack gets you three of them like the vesta's weapons.
I speculate it will come out with a hiss and a roar and will be nerfed to hell in 3 weeks because people will scream it's overpowered and keeps pummeling me... waa waa

Here's the Odyssey:
Engineering Odyssey: 2 5 3
Science Odyssey: 2 4 4
Tactical Odyssey: 3 4 3
Basically has an engineering and science focus. Only one variant has more than 2 tactical consoles, which - surprise! - is the tactical variant.
The Vesta:
Engineering Vesta: 3 3 4
Science Vesta: 3 2 5
Tactical Vesta: 4 2 4
Has a science and tactical focus. Only one variant has more than 2 engineering consoles: the engineering variant.
So if this pattern hold true, this will be the Kumari:
Engineering Kumari: 4 4 2
Science Kumari: 4 3 3
Tactical Kumari: 5 3 2
A tactical and engineering focus. So only the science variant ends up with more than 2 science console slots.
Again, this is based on the previous bundled ships, so we'll find out tomorrow* how wrong I am.
*soon
No idea about the rest of it.
