represent how? with a player or npc??? or some other capacity?
The authors talked at length about how one might represent another faction that is not Fed or KDF:
These are some key points.
1.) Stories may be told for the faction POV in that the player experiences the mission "as though" he/ she belongs to that faction.
2.) The Fed/ KDF player is asked by that faction to intervene, investigate, etc on behalf of that faction.
The most important thing is that during the events of Persistent Foundry, each faction will respond to events that occur in the story arc.
The prelude of Persistent Foundry revolves around the KDF determination to try and retake Empok Nor, and in the process discover a far greater prize.
As the story develops, the factions and the events that characterize them will become interconnected and a larger story develops as a result.
If you have read any of the "Path to 2409" then you would get an idea of what Persistent Foundry hopes to achieve.
The goal of Persistent Foundry is collaboration and sharing of stories between authors, and allowing not so well known authors the opportunity to show their worth.
Well I'd love to include myself. But i'll need to be guided a bit, to know from where to start
It's worth noting that you dont have to do it from the players avatar perspective, in my Federation and Undine missions you will take the part of characters as opposed to your own.
Or you can simply do it from the players perspective like usual, perhaps an Andorian Colony has been caught in the cross fire between the Klingons and Cardassians, it is up to the Player (Either Klingon or UFP side) to assist the colonists or wipe them out.
Be cool if you did a Klingon mission, i think most are Starfleet at the moment.

You can try looking at our website for further ideas. I know that a few of us have already put some ideas down on how their missions will go; feel free to draw some ideas from that and create your own story.
But like Thay said, Step One is to pick a faction to start off with. (The list of currently chosen factions is on the first page of this thread.)
Step Two would be to start writing a mission script/storyline, and getting that in place.
Step Three would be building the mission in the Foundry.
EDIT: Hey Thay, I found this while looking at the first page of comments:
Hmmm I havn't been spotlighted or got in the top three yet.
Better change that now. :P

How will all the races connect empok nor? Dominion interested? Askkaar nearby? Breen? Tholians? some factions might ot care for empok nor?
Each Season will consist of player ("factional") episode representing each of the faction's developing story-lines. These "factional episodes" can touch or involve the first KDF starter mission directly or they may touch on something completely separate to it.
The main backdrop of all the Seasons is based on the first KDF mission from there on.
Just like all the Star Trek Series, there was a backdrop of a story being told, e.g. TOS - exploration, ENT - disovery of space, NGEN - Borg Threat, VOY - quest to find home, DS9 - Dominion Wars, Persistent Foundry will be set against the following:
Persistent Foundry is based on the "Path to 2409" and is set during the New Romulus missions where both the Federation and the Klingon Empire are vying for power with their new allies.
The militarists of the High Council have convinced Chancellor J'mpok that the calamity of the loss of Praxis was never fully recovered, and that the Federation diplomacy in New Romulus was encroaching on Klingon Empire strategic hegemony.
Convinced that Starfleet is strechted too thin, the Klingon Defense Force has been ordered to start preemptive strikes against the Empok Nor facility to establish a "beachhead" in former Cardassian space. They believe that they would be abale to reinforce the region before Starfleet can respond and have established a false pretense for being there, based on a falsified report of True Way atrocities.
On arrival at Empok Nor they discover reliable information which lead them to believe that a strike against the Dominion forces, now in disarray following the FE's history is possible.
So the backdrop of all the series going forward, is a vast and exciting Second Dominion War!
Well I'd like to represent the Betazoids. The video says 11 factions by eleven authors, but only 10 are listed. So can my Betazoids be the eleventh?
I'm currently working on a foundry mission that I could probably modify to fit in with the other missions being created....unless I could collaborate with someone more experienced with the foundry. Like I could be the script writer (i'm an actor so that shouldn't be difficult.) And another person could tailor the foundry mission to my script!
I have created you a page where you can start advertising your missions as they are created here.
Also, there is now a Betazoids section on the forums where you are free to start engaging in your storyline.
Also won't i need to collaborate with you guys on tailoring the missions so that they connect to what everybody else is doing???
I have reign over the Federation Story so I think me and you will be talking alot! lol
Little curious, what are you going to do with the Betazoids? Because to me they have always been a peacful race without a military and the Klingons wont attack the planet as they dont want a direct conflict with the UFP while invading Cardassian space!?

You control the Federation. S/he controls the race.. maybe you **** up and she might wnt to make the betazoids leave he federation? :O

OR we both do various sides of the Federation; I do Starfleet and etc... Apoc2001 those the member worlds PoV? There are many ways we can this and co-op. APOCALYPSE2001, MESSAGE ME IN-GAME AT @rickysmith1 ASAP!
At first I was a little upset about someone nicking a part of the Federation, but now im looking forward to the co-op!

Alternatively, while Ricky handles the Starfleet aspect, Apocalpyse's storyline could concentrate on the non-military aspect of the Federation. I for one would love to see a custom made Presidential office!

well in-game I was explaining to him how my Betazoid could be one of the many 'faces' of my other captain Lady Themis. Here is an idea of what she is about: The Star Core. Originally this was the name of my fleet in Star Trek: Starfleet Command II. I recreated it in STO but a lack of active players has ground the progress to halt.
The Betazoid in the persistent foundry could just be a group of Betazoids who work across the galaxy, communicating information telepathically etc etc.....
Sounds interesting!
Have you registered on the Persistent Foundry Project (PFP) site? There, you can post your starting ideas there, as well as your characters you will be using.

Episode Seven - Shattered Universe Episode Eight - The Gepetto Condition Episode Nine - One Room, Two Officers
Episode Ten - Beyond The Farthest Star Episode Eleven - It's OK, It Won't Hurt Episode Twelve - A Protracted Officer
Episode Thirteen - Somewhen Episode Fourteen - The Boy Who Lived Episode Fifthteen - Empathy
Also, I have been thinking about something which I believe would add an another level of player engagement.
How about after each season is finished, we host a PvP tournament where teams get to represent the factions.
The author of the winning faction of the tournament gets to set the next Season up?
This way we draw-in a audience from the PvP community into showing interest in our stories too.
It would be really cool playing in a tournament where you see a storyline developing from it.

Andorians form part of the UFP, but if there were someone interested in representing this iconic faction it would be great.
