Hey folks. Just published a new mission called King for a Day. It's a Fed mission, solo RP at level 41+.
Starfleet is assigning you to a brand new Beta Quadrant frontline HQ. Before you can even report to your new post, it's under attack, but why and by whom? You might even think you know those answers. You don't.
For some reason this is not qualifying for the mission wrapper? I dont know why as it should. you might want to bug report that?
Good mission. I thought the maps were well done, and some must have taken ages to build. perhaps a little over complex at times (how many sliding doors do you have to run through to get to that command centre lol?) but visually impressive.
the story was pretty good, although i personally felt it ran too long and was a little bloated and at times confusing. it could have been a lot punchier in my view. there are times where you are hitting 4 consoles to advance the story, when one could have done, or getting communications from the ship that told you nothing important. it tends to stop the mission from flowing in my view. so it might benefit from some trimming.
i do appreciate you said its a RP mission so i accept that it was going to have a lot of talking (and certainly some of mine drag on), so take that for what's its worth.
following the first shuttle was quite cool, although took a while, so i ended up just flying right past it. the second one with the freighter was a pain, as i could not see it at first and went down instead of up. then found the freighter but it was at the station and not moving. eventually found the waypoint but it was getting annoying at that point. it really needs to be a little clearer. it might be too complex for its own good.
the last battle felt anticlimactic. the admiral was an ensign mob actor i think so he died pretty quickly, and the mission complete box came up before i had finished reading the mission text. that final bit could use a slight rework.
so overall its a good mission, but i think it needs to be a little sharper with more punch, to be a little clearer at times, and more climatic at the end.
