I turned off whatever setting it was to make the tsunami of balloons in every social zone disappear and now all the stars in the playable systems look like pulsars until I get within about half a light year of them. Kind of a neat effect. May just keep it this way.
I'll try next time I'm in game, but it's a dynamic thing so I don't know if I can catch it in a screen shot. Also, I never figured out how to do screenshots in-game other than copy to clipboard and paste to Microsoft Paint.

Pressing "Prnt Scrn" key on your keyboard saves the screenshot into a Screenshot folder of Star Trek Online. You have to find where your game is installed, there you'll find the screenshots folder.
Screenshots are saved without the UI as a JPG.

Thanks. I was having trouble getting good shots after cropping out the UI.
Ok, I've got it set up as my signature now. The Acamar System is shown. Note the pulsing (at least in real-time) of the two stars on the left. The picture on the right is up close to the same system and the stars are not pulsing. I have regular settings on my alt's and they don't have the pulsing effect.
I was in the Sirius Sector near Wolf 359 and Andoria and P'Jem were both doing the same thing.
