AP Delta

Ok, I must admit, until recent, I've never really used Attack Pattern Delta. Omega was my main one.

But as I've now moved over to using my KDF Engineer alt, I have been looking at skills very carefully. But the one thing that REALLY jumped out at me, was the new DOFF that add threat generation to AP Delta.

Now, it has been very nice to add to my Bortas War ship, and helps me keep aggro, great, fantastic - that is what I expected... how ever.... my ever thinking mind, decided to try something.

Despite having the threat control skill, I jumped in to a Gurumba for a bit of fun, but I kept AP Delta.... and in elite STFs, started casting it on any other ship in range.

WOW, just plain WOW... it was a bit mean of me to cast it on Fed cruisers without telling them what I was putting on them, or why.... but it didn't half work well !!!!

I've sepnt 2 ESTFs just laughing my backside off as end bosses home in on the person I put Delta on, while I beat the daylights out of them

Shame you can only have 1 of those DOFFS equipped at a time, as I'm just having to much fun off loading threat to Feddy cruisers

Any Cruiser Captain who objects to this has never tanked in another MMO, where powers that DPS classes use to redirect threat to the Tank are commonplace.

Of course, if there were better tools for Cruisers to manage their own threat, there'd be more Cruisers doing the tanking, instead of Escorts, and it wouldn't be a surprise.

Could not agree more. My main 2 characters at the moment are a Fed/ Engi/ Oddy and KDF/ Engi/ Bortas and I really need something. I have threat control skill on both, and it does help a little bit, but I need more.

I hope this new DOFF for Attack Pattern Delta is one of many new ways to help control / gain or pass threat on.

As Ive read the new DOFF and the skill, it does seem to me that if everyone in a group had both equipped, they can all cast it on the main tank and that person gets the full 100% extra threat and damage resistance per Delta cast on them (500% if everyone does it and including your own). However, why should everyone be forced into a skill and DOFF they may not want??

True, but what if you are redirecting that aggro to a non-tank? Nothing stopping you from using APD on another escort.
