Consoles and combo weapons

If I get a phased tetryon ship weapon can I use phaser consoles or tetryon consoles or should I get a combination of both?

    Those are Tetryon weapons with Phaser procs, so you'd want Tetryon consoles.

    as far i heared and read the last count so its Tetryon and NOT Phaser
    18 Cpt on the way to 60: 14 of them are already 50 or over 50, one is 60 and 3 almost 43

    Yeah, the second word of the type is their base type, and that is the only specific energy type that buffs their damage. Phased Tetryon = Tetryon Tac console, Phased Polaron = Polaron Tac consoles, Polarized Disruptor = Disruptor

    At least that is how things work ATM.

    With combo weapons, read the pop-up tooltip for the weapon, and whatever damage type it says the weapon has (ex. Phased Tetryon = X Tetryon damage, Polarized disruptors = X disruptor damage, Phased Polaron = X polaron damage, and so on and so forth), use those consoles.
    It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)
