Romulan Faction after New Romulan?

Hi guys,

I just came back to STO after about a year of playing it on and off. Read about Season 7 and logged in to play it, I was actually pleased that there was new content to work on and I'm happy to come back full time.

I was searching the forum and the only thing I found that is related is http://sto.perfectworld.com/sto_may2013

Then there was something at the back of mind asking "Is this THE prelude to a full fledged Romulan faction in the works?"

Consider that Romulus was destroyed, the search for a new home, the resettling and rebuilding and then in time, a fully developed New Romulus emerges that is on par with with old Romulus.

That sounds like a good time for Cryptic to put in the faction with new missions and objectives.

It sounds pretty logical to me for Cryptic to implement the groundwork of putting a story around the rebuilding of New Romulus before doing that yeah? Everything is there, the artwork, the ships, the planet. Just an excuse now to launch it. May 2013 sounds good?

What do you guys think?

    I think Stahl once said that there'd be no new factions until the KDF is completed. And currently the KDF is still incomplete.

    I'm also skeptical of their ability to actually make a new faction, due to their 3 year history with the KDF.

    So I don't know. This could be a disaster.

    Cryptic has seen that hey can make a large bunch of money from a Romulan faction. So they will make one how hollow it may be just to cash grab what they can.

    IMO they never intended to finish the KDF.

    He didn't say completed, he said finished. :P Finished as in done wasting time on it. :D

    lets not forget that the Season 8 is supposed to be "Klingon Heavy"

    If the Romulans are indeed on the way I'd hypothesize they will be level 25 onwards and deal with the Tal Shiar and the Iconian Gateway on New Romulus

    I have every faith in Cryptic, we all need to count ourselves lucky. They may not have made the perfect game and yes, there are still problems but we have the hardest working developers on this game.

    What is the date estimate for Season 8?

    If this is not a full faction then and just some stunt like playable race. Then, STO will be dead to me.
