I just finished the new mission and I loved it. Nicely done cryptic. There is just one problem. I can't be certain, but I think I am stuck in a temporal loop. I could have sworn I've seen these patch notes once before. I don't suppose anyone is willing to loan me their wells class [Temporal loop detector Mk XII].
In all seriousness good luck with the maintenance Cryptic. Thanks for the hard work put into the 3rd Anniversary, the new episode, and maintaining the servers.
I love the 3 year mission and the ships....just wish i could USE them at this point...just spent 10 million getting the new ship ready to fly....ran Alhane once for quick test run,,,see that the server is coming down in 1 minute? wtf....had to finish that mission fast lol

AS WE ALL KNOW... thees red alerts have been screwed up since the beginning of season 7. and i for one ... as a gold member ... find this appalling. i pay every month for this game and would like to play ALL of the missions that i want to play. it would just be nice for something to be fixed once in a while in stead of being over looked like so many other thing in this game have been (terroedome, the crystalline entity, and others im sure)
Give them a break guys. No one at the STO wants to make your night horrible. A 8 year vet of City of Heroes, before she when down, I can tell you that EVERY MMO has weeks like this after they put out content with new systems and content in it.

you may be a gold member...but i'm f2p silver.....but STILL spend over $100 a month on this game....i want it working right too...all this bs is getting really old....great game..but PLEASE fix it Cryptic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unforntunatly I was in a middle of a mission when the message pop up, and after 15 minutes or so I of course got kicked off, and I think this mission will bring me up to level 49, and I'm hopeing I can get to level 50 some time tonight or after work sometime today.

I've seen worse on battlestar galactica. compared to this, a very simple architecture. for one simple update the lost players achivements for one ore to days (about 4 hours i grindeg for a new ship). all lost. this never happened on sto. quite amazing, regarding the pace the set for updates...
There is just one thing they could do, to make us all happy again: Free Bugships for everybody who was affected by at least 2 downtimes (the forum-threads will show you at least who complained about another downtime)...
Once they've fixed everything, we will forget about the "week of hell"...

Personally, I'd be happy with just a quick post with an estimated length of the down time. I saw someone a few posts up say an hour, but I believe they were going by the first post of the thread, which was the earlier, scheduled downtime, I believe.

It could be worse. Stuff like this happens. As long as its not breaking anything atleast its not causing it to be down for something like three hours.

Just rather annoyed, whatever patch they are applying, especiailly when I actually have time to play the game, and its 3:30am EST atm. they couldn't restart the damned servers last week when it was lagging like all hell.
There are major yet unresovled issues with this game...
I won't even list them because they already are, at nauseum if they are heard. Most of which concern simple interface issues. Which create frustration of game play. This 'event' is a pure frustration for both the player and the maker. (ballons don't make things happy)
I think it points out what is wrong.
We need a responsive staff that is willing to accept and allow the changes we have asked for. Simple stuff... things are still neglected. Basic interactions with NPC's that frustrate the common player. Repairs in elites that should take less than 8 windows to repair... this is simple stuff.
To make the ease of gameplay and function is far more important that some hokey event.
Then because of that also make us suffer multiple resets just to support ballons on a server that can't handle it.
The point is... Please re-devote some of those creative juices to fixing some of the basic issues the normal player experiences in the game.
Focus on that... then give us more developement that we also crave.

And then I wait, play a while, and it starts to seem like MAYBE you guys got your acts together. And I start tossing around the idea of parting with (up to $300 now, crazy) $300 to obtain the lifetime membership.....and then a week like this happens.

Do you have any idea about the mass exodus from WoW when Blizzard started having server problems? Do you feel that you are as big as Blizzard that you can afford to lose players or something? Just because STO reveived a GOTY award didn't bring the gamers of the world to STO in troves....and you once again showed me that buying a lifetime membership isn't the best idea...
We'll see what happens over the next 6 months....I'll reconsider at that point. Until then, I'll be giving another $300 to apple the the app devs in the app store....CHEERS!

Nothing like a ticking clock to get the team on the same page. One of the best runs I've had in a while!
