Customize Avatar on Forums

Hello everyone.... Sorry if I am the last one to learn this but I can figure out how to change my avatar for the forums. I have been into Core and uploaded a jpeg for my account and it displays there..... I also found where I can select one of 12 or so pics for my avatar..... But i see individuals that have a completly unique avatar for the forums and I am trying to do that. Thanks in advance.
