Yay for 4 forward and aft weapons, and Commander Engineering. However, I'm a little sad at the Tactical positions. I would have liked a LT. Commander Tactical position. I'm currently flying the Excelsior Retrofit, and it has one. I was wanting to make this ship replace that one on my ENG character, and I'm sad I'm going to lose a tier III ability, like Torp High Yield III or Spread III, a cruiser should have that ability IMO. Very sad actually about that. Hrmmmmmm

    I think the stats are nice except for the turn-rate. That needs to be 8, minimum.

    A lot of the T5 ships have a turn rate of 7, some even as low as 6.

    Yeah they got a bad habit of making cruisers no matter what their size all turn about the same!!!! DUMB

    I think the layout is pretty good. If you want a tactical cruiser, use an Excelsior. This thing was made during a more-peaceful time. I'm actually surprised its not Sci LtCmdr and Ensign both, and 3 sci consoles. As for the turnrate, its halfway between the Excelsior and the Galaxy, so appropriate.

    KDF should be quite happy too.

    Yes, and a lot of tier 5 cruisers are behemoths compared to the ambassador.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the FED at war with both the Roms and the Klings at this time???

    I think that's kind of the point. There already is a cruiser available with a Lt. Commander Tactical slot, but there hasn't been one with a Lt. Commander Science slot before now, and people who wanted that option have been out of luck if they wanted to fly a cruiser. This ship is for those who want to play a more science-y cruiser, those scientists and, ahem, doctors among us.

    I see, I guess that makes sense, just sad about that, losing a tac power. I was wanting something to replace my Excelsior Retrofit.

    I wish the turn rate was a tad better also, personally, just one notch is fine.

    After the first Khitomer Accord, my understanding is that the Federation and Klingon Empire were.....not allies, but not enemies anymore either, trying to move on to a better relationship. The Romulans were (according to TNG anyways) going through a period of isolationism. The Cardassians were still a minor local power. The Federation had no clue about the Borg or the Dominion. Compared to the all-but-open-war of the TOS period or the serial escalations of the TNG-DS9 period. Sounds to me like a period of comparative peace.

    Why does it need a LT cmd tac, why does everything have to be copy and paste with some players I mean really we have cruisers with those already, why do we need more...some of us like variety.

    Other then the Boff slots, this is almost exactly the same ship at the Assault Cruiser. Hull, shield, turn, weapons, devices, console wise, it's pretty much the same as every other free T5 ship in the game.

    I would have settled for more free Q photos instead....another useless ship...what is free? what the heck....for those who loved the Ambassador...what were you thinking? Another ship (cruiser Dreadnought) that looks like upside down vacuum cleaner...:eek:

    Yeah, they were. The Enterprise C was the reason the Klingons and Federation made peace with each other after it was destroyed helping the Klingons.

    When it gets to the C-store (and it most likely will), it'll probably have a universal Boff slot, better shield modifier a unique console and skin.

    I like it. I was expecting it to have a science focus, at the expense of tac. 2 tac boff slots, and 3 tac consoles, while still getting an Lt. Comm sci boff slot means the best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned.

    Sure, I wouldn't mind a higher turn rate, but I wasn't actually expecting one; she's still a big ship after all.

    Why, what were you expecting from a free ship? It's pretty much on par with all the other free T5 Cruisers.

    Im excited for this. but really we are given in total. 4 free ships and people are whineing about it? Be glad they gave us SOMETHING at least. If you dont like it you dont like it. You dont have to complain. For NOBODY cares! Just like no one cares about this post:D

    Meh, she is a 50+ year old ship. I wasn't expecting much.

    I wasn't let down, either.

    Have fun Ambasador fans, I think I'm going to pass on this one. Well, I'll grab mine for sure, but I doubt she will see much light outside of my first day with her.
