Hello Captains,
I've decided I'm going to try saving up ECs for a lock box ship, rather than try my luck with master keys. This will take some effort, but it's doable. So my question to you all is this:
What lock box ship do you recommend? Which one have you used and which one rocks? I'm leaning more toward a cruiser (for my engineer) or escort (for my Tac), but if I get an overwhelming number recommending a science lock box ship, I'll definately consider it. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Joseph
Edit: Oh and if any of the Lobi ships are to die for, tell me about those as well!
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Personally I agree the attack ship is the best. However the new Jemmy escort looks good, i havent used it yet, also this ship is not lockbox her say, but the Mobius time ship is also a very good ship if your an escort captain.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
For a tac, the best you can go with is the Jem Attack Ship. Short of that, the best IMO is the Mobius. The Jem Heavy Escort is actually rather tricky to use, given the lack of science skills if you want the decent tactical ones. The Mobius, on the other hand, has a much more flexible layout.
As for cruiser, I haven't flown either one, but the D'Kora is more of a tank, while the Galor is more of a DPS cruiser.
The dreadnought is not a lockbox ship and a fleet torkhat would out damage it twice over so would a galor
Without doubt the JHAS don't own one but the thing is quite literally idiot proof put a tier one just joined the game fed recruit in one and he would still out dps everything around him including the Borg

OP here,
all due respect fellas let's not derail the thread lol.
So I'm hearing Jem'hadar attack ship mostly. Trouble is, 400 mil ec is a little much. Any other ships you've used that you would highly recommend?

Heh, the Florcha is a sweet ship, but the dread carrier is going to out DPS it all day and night.
Hell, I out DPS every Florcha I see in my Atrox for crying out loud, a dread carrier is going to mop the floor with it. Yes, I'm good in my Atrox and most people just aren't that good at all... but still...
And PvP? Why would I waste my time on an usupported mini-game in a genre of game based around co-operative action? PvP and MMO is a joke. PvP and P2W MMO is a double joke. When I play a PvP game I prefer things to be on an even keel, so only skill rules the day, not what class/ship/power is FotM and how much cash somebody has dropped on their rig. Plenty of games out there that actually offer a robust PvP experience, I wouldn't waste my time in a half-assed approximation of a real test of skill.
YMMV, but P2W PvP isn't my idea of a skill test.
Edit: To try and stay on topic, if I could snap my fingers for a lockbox ship, I'd likely pick the JHAS, D'Kora, or Galor. JHAS because I'm a carrier junky and it would make me invest in a dread carrier. Galor because Spiral Wave Disruptors are argueably the best beams in the game. D'Kora because I love them. I don't even remember their stats. I just want one =P
I once again match my character. Behold the power of PINK!
I have all the previous lockbox ships, and my favourite i would class as the one I play the most is the GALOR.
It just feels well balanced, able to heal, put out a good amount of DPS and has good movement.
After that I would say JHAS.
I have bought and sold the new ships to make a few mil, but after reading about the dreadnought I must say I am tempted, I always found the recluse a little too less in the damaging dept.
a dread armed with spirals and JHAS pets mmmmmmmmm*drools* throw in a few good boffs and well it could get real messy.
I use the MU star cruiser from the Tholian Lock box and it has replaced the oddy I used and even though it's a engineers ship I use it effectivly as a science character in PVE and PVP

But my favorite lockbox ship has got to be the Tuffli. She doesn't look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.

Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!

Attack ship is not a lockbox ship
Do not confuse the poor guy. It is currently only available via the exchange for an extortionate price.

I would never stop trying to get one of those
Maybe put it in an Undine Lock Box if we every have it.

Real answer: the only one I've actually opened and used, the Tuffli. It's so darn useful.
