Reputation "Upgrades"?

Hi All,

I'm returning after an absence and just getting started with the New Romulus and Task Force Omega Reputation missions. I see there are two "Projects" and one "Upgrade" I can do to start, and it appears as if the goal is to turn Marks into Reputation.

The first Project is 17 Marks (plus expertise and commodities) for 2,000 Reputation (and some Dilithium). The second Project is 9 Marks (plus shields and regenerators) for 800 Reputation. And the Upgrade is 50 Marks for... 5 Reputation??

Granted, you're not spending Expertise or other items for the Upgrade, and you do get more Dilithium ... but is that the only reason to do the Upgrade? For Dilithium? Seems awful costly to only get a measly 5 whole Reputation for 50 Marks. Makes me wonder why they give any Rep at all for it.

And what exactly is it an "Upgrade" to? Does completing the Upgrades give you a bonus to the other projects or something?

Marks = Nothing. You get 60-75 in an eSTF so the are worth about nothing. Its basically 10 minutes for 500 Dilithium.

The Upgrade slot is for other stuff as well [like upgrading your tier primarily]. The project you're looking at there is primarily to convert marks to Dilithium.

The upgrade slot is used for both 'tier upgrade' projects needed to advance to the next reputation level, and marks-to-dilithium conversion projects. Take a look at the 50 marks project, I bet it gives you 500 dilithium. The only purpose of it is to get dilithium if you don't really want to level up your reputation right now.
