Earning energy credits quickly

Ok, so my EC total has dropped from 100m to about 25 million and I really need to re-earn some, and quickly. Trouble is that my old amount took ages to earn and I don't have any ideas on TRIBBLE earning for ECs (ways that don't involved spendning money on c-store items to sell).

Discarding farmed gear from missions and the foundry only makes me about 500k a day, some of which gets spent. Ideally I'd like to be making 2-3 mil a day, or more.

Any tips?

There's a couple missions for gear farming in the Foundry. Mostly junk and you only can really do one per character per day before they stop dropping stuff, but even as junk it adds up and I usually get over 300k and one or two items worth actually putting on the Exchange (plus 50 fleet marks and 960 dil for the Officer Reports mission) for like 20 minutes work. Do on multiple characters it adds up.

There's also Officer Exchange missions in Cardassian space. Buy cheap white doffs with the right traits (science department is the cheapest) then send them on Exchange Program assignments. With even 1 positive trait you have about a 50% chance of trading that white officer that cost you 5 grand into a blue or purple doff. Even if it fails you still upgrade to a green doff that you can sell, try again with, or feed into the grinder for 3 whites.

Not as flashy as some of the 10-million-a-day braggarts, but 1 or 2 million from little stuff here and there, it all adds up.

Tour of the Universe. Each run will give you 350k EC. Depending on how fast you are, you can do 3 runs in the hour. My Tactical Odyssey with Full Borg Set, and buffed with Diplomatic Immunity AND Raiding party, I can get 4 runs in the hour. That equals to 1,400,000 EC in an hour. Pretty good source of income in my book!

Or do a Foundry mission named "Qwark the Farmer." There is a Feddy version, and a KFD version, so pay attention to the name. In either case, the mission only takes 10-15 minutes or so, but if you play on Elite difficulty, the sheer amount of loot you pick up can be vendor trashed for anywhere between 400k and 500k! For only 10-15 minutes of work, that is quite significant income! I should note that this works best when you empty your inventory before running the mission, or else you may end up having to use the replicator to recycle some things along the way.

    Good luck!

you could do Negotiate Additional Delivery of Rare Commodities every 3 days to get Strange Alien artifacts which sell for about 700k+ ec....but its far more rewarding to power them up with trace particles (pretty easy to get, try Rolor nebula or Delta Volnaris) even though it takes some time and if you have a green(40% i assume)/blue(60%)/purple(80% but expensive) Astronomic Officer (the one that gives a better chance of getting an additional trace particle), you have 3 days between NADoRC...and if you have more characters...even more EC :) Powered Alien Artifacts sell (last i checked was about 3-4 days ago) for about 1.4m. even if you buy 1 each of the particle traces you still make a profit.

DOFFJOBS is VERY useful for finding doff assignments from other players. just type /channel_join DOFFJOBS into the chat box or look(search) for it under chat options.

Never, ever sell items to the replicator. Ever. You only get 40%. Which is not bad, but if you sell to a proper store, that extra 10% can be 10k ec or more.

Instead, sell to the dil store. You get the full 50% you would get anywhere else, AND it's available anywhere in-game. So you can sell in the middle of a mission.

    Tour the universe 1hour 1.7mil +

Borg engines, Raiding Party and Diplomatic Immunity (normally from people around Wolf 359), Purple Astrometrics Doff

After getting the Tour from the chap in the club

Leave Sol space and head for beta Urse

As soon as you transfer to Beta do a quick instance swap and you will be at the far end

From there head up to Orellis and complete there and hang a right into Eta Erandi space
go through EE as quick as you can and head to Omega Leonis and through the Klingon Gate to Borg space

When in Borg space head for the very centre point, by going through the very centre it hits all 4 sections and head straight for Fluidic space

When there you can head back to Sol via transwarp (should be on a 4-5minute timer with a purple astrometrics) - if not just before the tour get the stranded in spae assignment - it takes you just outside of sol for 100ec and reverse to sol

End the tour mission and get it again - repeat every 5 or so minutes for 200k per run

Buying and cracking open Doff packs (reinforcement and gamma) on KDf side is a decent way to earn, too.

Going by mission length, I like "cold comfort" from the breen invasion storyline, highest value reward I've found reliable is "Past Imperfect" From the klingon war storyline.

The way I estimated this value was that I went through episode by episode for gear values.

So basically I should just go all out on dil grinding for the next few weeks while the excange is good?

Only problem I have with it is the damned 8000 conversion. I already have about 100k in ore sitting and doing nothing.

Anyhow, some of the tips in this thread are interesting. Gonna take me a while to get he full borg set. I have the Mk XI one. But I use the Omega MkXII on my fleet defiant and it's gonna be mega-bucks in terms of OM (3000!) to get a new space set to compete.

For the Foundry mish idea. That only works once for your entire account so switching to another toon will do absolutely nothing but waste time unless you are after the foundry mission completion.

The foundry loot cap only applies to each character. I have ran the "Qwark Farmer" on three characters consecutively and loaded up on all three.

I just went to the Dil store, and it is not giving 50%... it is only giving 40% just like replicator. I believe only a vendor can give 50% like on ESD or Qo'nos.

For the borg engine, you don't get faster warp speed with higher levels, I don't think, so MK XI should be enough, and you only need the engine.

dil store > ship and space items > requisition ship equipment > hanger

this will give you 50%. I thought the same thing you did when I was first told cuz I went to the wrong part of the store.

I use my KDF alt to run Foundry mission Omegas Weapon Free on elite - I get plenty of green and blue loot, and the occassional purple, sometimes 1/2 a mil at a go.

The trick I use is to sell all white and green drops to vendors for 50% EC, and list the blue and purple ones on the exchange.

Just wanted to add that my fed TAC Escort cleared 400,000 ec on Royal Rumble not counting blue console sales in exchange. Thats just the 50% vender stuff. It hard and takes longer but considering the loot cap I think its best on elite.

In the foundry you can only get a certain amount of item drops and experience per day per character. Once you reach this limit you can still run missions and you can still get credit for the investigate operative reports mission, but you won't get any more exp or gear dropping.

    This is the cap.

I do not know the exact number and have never seen it posted anywhere.

I have started a log. Its somewhere around 3 cycles. I make alot more on advanced though. Elite doesnt seem to pay much more although once I made 510,000. I will post more info as it becomes clear.

I am also going to go back to B'tran advanced/elite and see how the drops are there. This used to be a good mission zone to span and not get burned out as fast. I'm just not sure I can face another mysteriously empty, 5 room underground installation. :D
