Idea: The Cardassians

When New Romulus is released, took me time to run around though, i give a thumbs up for able to make this kind of map.And it comes out an idea, what if STO has the Cardassian version of New Romulus but its on Cardassia Prime. True Way and the Alpha Jem'hadar can be the bad guy like the Tal'Shiar, Hirogen and the tholians in New Romulus. This way we can use the existing Cardassia System on the sector map so it won't be a waste with just one mission. The mission on this adventure map on Cardassia Prime would be almost like New Romulus. This is just an idea.

    If we're going that way, then it could be part of a rep thing for Polaron stuff like the Romulan one is for Plasma - Cardassian Space set?

    That would be a good idea, it also have a rep system same like the new romulus.

    I would have thought the Polaron Weaponry would best be suited for a later Dominion-Themed Reputation Series (based in the Gamma Quadrant). I'd have thought Cardassian weaponry more focused toward Disruptor?

    I thought Cardassians used phasers, but whatever, yea Dominion stuff in the Gamma Quadrant would be nice, but yea, the polaron thing was me thinking more about the existing missions there and less about Cardassia itself. A real Cardassian Boff would be nice too.

    Loving this idea and hoping this is what the devs have in mind when dstahl talks about future reputations being introduced.

    Only if they overhaul the rep system. I hate how arbitrarily grindy the current two are.

    They need to tie it into game systems that are popular and work well: DOFFs, STFs, replay of appropriate missions, not just outright bribery with random and numerous items.
    Leave nerfing to the professionals.

    Maybe have a Cardassian adventure zone that is split up in to several systems with the UFP aiding the Cardassian Union forces and the KDF aiding the True Way. The Federation would have an area on Cardassia Prime and some kind of space station, while the KDF would have the Septimus system and Empok Nor.
    My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

    Well, if cryptic is in mind of this idea, the story will be the federation has been allowed to send starfleet ships into cardassia and the klingons had a 'treaty' with the cardassians on helping them.

    Clearly.

    It's hybrid Phaser Distruptors . Just thort the link to STOwiki would solve that part of the thread.

    However good idea for the next rep system theme.

    Could be a Klingon sort of 'nation building' of the sort the US and USSR did during the cold war, competing at helping out to show why their way was superior (among other things). KDF shows up and says 'you don't need to be under the Federation yoke, there is a better way!' And still lets you use the True Way and Alpha JH as adversaries in the same missions, but for distinctly Klingon reasons.

    well, the romulans are enemies of the KDF too, but the klingons are now helping the romulans building New Romulus. So this means that enemies of the Klingon Empire can be friends during time of need

    The Cardassians and KDF don't get along.

    All you'd need is a common enemy.

    If, say, the Hur'Q started messing with Cardassia, you might see an allied task force... and continuation of a Klingon plotline!

    This would be good and linked to canon because after the dominion war cardassia had to be rebuilt due the dominion betraying the cardassians so maybe after all those years the rebuilding is still happening

    Breen could be brang into the fold somehow i guess, means they will be more featured in the game instead of a just 5 mission series.

    Maybe with the True way and alpha jems can kill some important Klingon figure head , i doubt they need a good reason.

    That would be really interesting actually. For a change make the storyline KDF based, that the Federation also can participate in (generically helping the Cardassians) in reverse of how the FE's normally go. Might even make the 'nobody loves us' crybabies quit whining for five minutes (wouldn't that be something?). Keen.

    if im not wrong, according to canon, cardassia is still rebuilding.
