fix the aquarius another thread

So I like the aquarius. I like the idea that a escort docks inside a long range cruiser instead of flying with it. Its great for conserving energy and giving the escort crew full luxury of a cruiser. The cruiser get instant access.to a escort at all times. I also think that while docked the console should give a extra energy bonus as it is just a auxiliary warp core sitting there.

Rant aside I believe that the aquarius needs a boost. I believe it should be equal to the hoh'sus, as they are both the same general design. You want BOP to stay more maneuverable able. Fine make the Aquarius tankier with more hull. Don't want all uni slots then give us a cmd tact and lt cmd uni with a lt tact and engi.

I want as many suggestions as possible, maaaybe eventually get a fix to the failius.

I think with how overpowered the vesta consoles are that the bortasqu could get a +5 to weapons with the hoh-sus docked and the oddy could get +5 to engines with aquarius docked.


For right now lets head up the aquarius fight then move to the ody and bortasqu. Lets get Cryptic/PWE to fix their mistake with these ships.

I like this idea. I own the Fleet Aquarius, but I dont really fly it because of its shortcomings. I do like the ship and I would like to see it get some changes.

The Aquarius is not "Fine as it is" Its stats are lower than in alot of places and if it has a decent stat it is the same as another ship that offers much more. Take fleet defiant vs fleet aquarius, defiant has cloak,more hull, more shield, same turn, 5 tact consoles, 3 aft weapons just to start, the Aquarius offers no advantage but a better inertia by 10 and universal boffs. The kicker is that the defiant is "lower rank" ship in the shipyard while the aquarius requires military rank of 4.

Then we take it against the hoh'sus that beats or ties it in every category except hull.

Anyone that looks at the aquarius says "it has potential but why do the stats suck so much".

As for the cloak i agree it doesn't need it, but ask for more than you can get. If you ask exactly what you need you will get half of what you need. Ask for a respectable amount of want, you will get what you need. If there is no cloak a .92 or .95 shield modifier would be nice.

As somebody who's never likely to want one for reasons not merely linked to it's stats, I have no vested interest in it's capabilities.

So far, I have yet to see even one. This tells you something about it's capabilities compared to what else is on offer right now.

The Aquarius, no matter how you set it up ends up as a "poor man's" version of another ship, like the Steamrunner or Patrol Escort, due to trading a big chunk of hit points for a measly one point of turn rate. The Aquarius should have a much better turn rate. It's small enough to justify it, and as "hull nerfed" as any BoP out there. At least us BoP drivers are getting the flexibility and battle cloak. It really seems like a case of "Well, if you really, really want to fly it we'll let you.... but it won't be good." just to keep people from doing it, much like the Galaxy R.

Back on focus of the Aquarius Escort. All it truly needs is a turn if 20 and a shield modifier of .9 and a impulse mod of .2. I realize that its feds version of a bop, but thats what i want is a bop. I love my bop on KDF side and want to have equal fun on Fed side. It will never be a true bop though just enough to satisfy.

The Aquarius should be the next generation of escorts, just like the Odyssey is the next gen of cruisers, Vesta science vessels and so on.. I would really like to see shield, turn rate and hull improvements like you guys have obviously being saying.

I personally think that the Bridge officers and consoles are fine imo; maybe swap one of the engineer for tactical so it makes 5 like the defiant. The cloak I don't think is necessary because that is one thing that makes the defiant unique compared to other fed ships.

I would propose - Hull: 30,000 - shield mod: 0.9 - turn rate:20

Same or slightly lower shields than other fleet escorts (that being 0.99), lower hull than all other fleet escorts, but makes up for it with the 20 turn rate.

Just read a tweet from al rivera that a fix for fleet ships was coming out... Maybe Aquarius get a buff or two please. Just turn and shields at least.

The Armitage heavy escort carrier is supposed too be the next gen of escorts, not the Aquarius. As for our little failure, amp up the speed, make the lt.commander a uni, and then give it an inate mask energy signature. It's not a cloak then, much easier too detect, and it's not a full on BoP either. It'll be like a lighter, less stealthy, less firepower Defiant-R, advantages being uni Boff spots and it's faster.

The Armitage is a updates akira class. It's not the next gen escort. It is what the regent to the odyssey. The akira/sovereign are both great ships and viable for everything, but needed a update to keep up with upcoming ships like the ody/vesta (and what should be the aquarius).

Now I am in Korea right now and do not have access to the game but stowiki and sto refer to the armitage as "other class" I am not sure though 100%. So please correct me if I am wrong.

Now if you are referring to Jaegers akira class that shoots 2 quadrillion torps in every direction and solo's the whole borh fleet and has a blackhole i.side that fits a infinite source of peregines (end sarcasm). Then maybe I would say that is the future of escorts, but his ideas.are overpowered and a verge of insanity. I guess thats why the show nerfed his idea to be more managable and fit the trek theme.

Besides isn't the prometheus the future as it was still expiremental while the akira and defiant were be mass-produced?
