Hi,
In my days of yore when I played EQ2 one option that was eventually added was the ability to have your normal armor with all its specs but then you could overlay that with other gear for appearance and cosmetics.

Often times what a person would do is get the gear they wanted and make that their stat gear, but they would then go to the vendor and buy lower level gear that would match or have the color/appearance they wanted.

I though that'd be something fun to add for starships and character loadouts.

For example, I really like Borg gear stats on my ship but wouldn't mind having the purple Jem Hadar colors from the engines, deflector, etc.

I, for one, welcome our Ship Fashionista overlords.

Kidding aside, it's an excellent idea, with the added benefit of not having to telegraph exactly what you're using when you PvP while still getting the benefit of spiffy visual effects and skins. Sometimes, you just want to combine the look of the Aegis Engines with the Reman Skin and Omega Deflector without having a "loln00b" bullseye painted on your backside. >.>
If you feel Keel'el's effect is well designed, please, for your own safety, be very careful around shallow pools of water.

    I support this idea,

it would be nice to freely design your ship with any ship set
with out having the set equipped.

i would love to have the mirror universe design on my Vesta
    with the breen engine effect.

I support this. Especially that we have something similar with ground sets already.
