Hi just a quick question. If I'm running the jem hadar set on my escort, 4 damage appropriate consoles, and a dhc/turret setup, will I get better dps out of polaron or the traditional antiproton?
I'm not as interested in the polaron proc intagible benefit other than reduced shield power on target increases shield damage.
considering the jem hadar set boosts Polaron Damage then with the same exact setups [Consoles, weapon Mk's] polaron should give more consistant Damage, anti proton only gives more damage if you crit a lot.
the jem set is perfect for fleet defiant (make sure you purchase the retro for the cloaking buff). 7.6 percent polaron buff from two piece jem set, 15 percent outa cloak buff, five tac consoles, w/fleet polarons and tac buffs, thats one stoopid Alpha...........
If you're not going to run polaron weapons, there's really no point in using the Jem set, since it's only Mk XI. I run the Jem engine and deflector with the Adapted MACO shield ( was using a fleet covariant, but the Adapted is better). I still get the weapon power and damage bonuses, along with the turn rate and other bonuses. I kinda miss not having the AP sweep, but not getting blown up every 30 seconds using the Jem shield is worth it.
I run 4 pol dhc's and 3 pol turrets with 5 pol consoles. With the added bonus from the set, I get ridiculously high DPS. Oh, and if you run polaron, be sure to put a few spec points into flow capacitors to increase the power drain from the proc.
