Breen Ship

sollafsollaf Member Posts: 164 Arc User
Thank you devs for the Breen Ship, it simply rocks. I unlocked it yesterday, threw the Aegis set on it (best set my eng has), and Mk XII phaser cannons. That thing is a beast, while running 6 STFs I only died once, and I was putting dps on the target near to the escorts. Keep up the good work, just wanted to say thanks for such a great ship. :)

And here comes the storm of "It's a garbage ship how can you fly it" "It's OP how can they allow it" and so on and so forth.

Btw, I agree, wonderfully fun ship.

I love the ship on my TAC as well. The extra slot on the back for my additional turret is very nice and the extra hull helps. With my new build, my survivability has increased alot especially on this ship. 3 DHC, 1 DBB, 3 Turrets & Cutting beam - STF's are certainly easier and at the same time I find I have a better chance against donatra when shes having one of those glitchy days and likes to one shot everything lol

This will definately last me until I get my Fleet Escort Carrier! Great Christmas ship Cryptic - thanks!

Love the ship as well! Although if you haven't yet, play "Hive Elite" and see how many times you get one shotted by the Borg. Been flying the Breen ship for the past few days, running great STF runs and feeling pretty good about my setup, until playing Hive Elite. When I noticed the survivability of this ship, it's rather demotivating (can't expect the best of everything). Haven't played PvP yet, but can probably concur that survivability will be almost the same outcome as Hive. Great ship though! :D

That's with any ship in Hive Elite. Even my bug has a lot of trouble there. As for PvP I know some players that use the ship, and say its phenomenal.

I think it's overpowered. But it's an overpowered ship I have. So hey, fun!

I'm still experimenting with mine, but wow, it's a nice ship. Although I have to say that while the dissipator is fun, I'm half considering swapping it out for something else. Or maybe keeping it inventory to swap for mission-appropriate consoles (the dissipator is probably better against big single targets?)

Yeah the Chel is a great ship. I had one character with the complete Jem'hadar set, since it boots polaron damage, I am currently using that set, with Polaron turrets and a few DHC's, got some domnion cannons on it from that one mission too. Its tearing things up pretty nicely.

I felt that putting this here for added amusement to readers was necessary, esp since this thread compliments the current thread wonderfully.

I've been using mine with a kinda "boring" Phaser Array/Torp setup, but with DP:Beta and Tricobalt mines! Making Borg ships evaporate is awesome!

So far I love mine. Using it on my KDF. Have it equipped with poloran and transphasic torpedoes. One is the cluster torpedo from that one Breen mission. I only did a few missions. So far I would say its good power vs what I had. Defense is there when I went up against a Romulan Warbird, and we know how tricky they can be at times.

It was worth the all those races to get it.

    I second this opinion.

When you are paying attention, and you run to safety when you are getting too much grief, it is impossible to die in this ship.

Its garbage...i know you spent your time trying to get this thing, but you and many others will soon realize this and go back to your other ship....UNLESS you happen to be one of the few people who couldnt afford a decent fleet ship or C Store ship and were stuck flying a mirror universe ship then I understand why you think this breen ship is "amazing" lol

Its a ship that is trying to be something it is NOT. It is not a cruiser, but people think it is...the ship makes a horrible tank, the HULL str is quite low and does not have the consoles, but you will see people in elite stf's trying to be a tank and ruining the optional with their TRIBBLE breen ship. Really, its not a good cruiser at all.

It is not an escort..a real escort has a much better turn rate and is more agile than this ship. if you want to fly an escort build, go with a fleet tac escort refit. I blow these breen ships up all the time in pvp with mine. It is not a good escort at all.

Flame all you want to protect your new investment , but fact of the matter is , its garbage.

Lets agree to disagree. I will admit that you are right about the ship being underpowered for optionals in Elite IF and only IF you have all the gimmicks on on it like theta radiation consoles, etc... but if you strip this ship down to bare bones and build it for PVP use it handles quite well. Yes, the turn rate is not as good as an escort but its survivability makes up for this. I can take down three probes at the half way mark built this way. Overall, its the best ship I have ever had!

As for Hive Elite, well, so many people bail or AFK these days in PuG matches that honestly, I wish we could fire upon them instead anyways! lol I see dozens of these ships in PVP now as well and they are just as deadly when properly handled... its the latter that I am still working on! :-p

I just wish i could get the ship. I just came back to the game and can only get 400 autographs. I really do want it as I really like the look. I do not have the lobi crystals either to convert nor do i have the money to "create" the 1000+/- lobi crystals i need to convert into autographs.

Is there any word on them making it available after the event?

to my knowledge there is no "word" on them being available after the event, But that doesn't really mean anything.

The Jem'Hadar ship was for the winter event last year and after about 6 months or so, they had an alternate way to get it for people (like me) who were not around for last years event. Plus, the next lock box is suppose to be a Dominion themed one. I know most people are hoping for a new Dominion ship in it, but I am hoping they use it as a way to get the Jem'hadar bug ship.

In any case, I wouldn't lose hope on another way in the future to get the ship, but nothing from the developers on it, and don't expect anything for a long while.

I have four and have opened two.

Currently the best ship in my arsenal for elite stf pve.

Only thing better is a kar'fi.

I removed the console and have loaded the consoles up.

Not sure what a high DPS dealing build should do...but this on my engineer klink posted better than 6000DPS for ISE.

Someone commented that most don't do any better than 3000 DPS.

Anyone have parsed numbers from ISE to compare?

Why use DBB? I have 3 DHC + torp on front and it does the job. Wreck shields with cannons, fire torps and bye bye opponent.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I use a DBB up front.

The practical reason is it can strip the shields off most ships with BO, but I'll admit the main motivation for me was that it looked good and its fun to use :)
