Breen Cluster Torp - which console?

I saw a comment on another thread and it got me thinking.

Do I use the Transphasic Compressor console or the Variable Geometry Detonators console?

As far as I can tell the compressor is meant to boost transphasic torpedo damage right? But since this weapon is not technically a torpedo at all I'm wondering if the compressor has any effect...logically the detonators would be the better console since the weapon does it's damage via mines.

What do you guys think?

The STO wiki states that it affects all tranphasic projectile damage, including mines. The same will apply to all kinetic-damage boosters.

So yeah, use the Transphasic Compressor to boost your transphasic damage.

Also, be sure to use STO wiki as a resource. It's useful for older, established features of the game. It's not updated as regularly as it should be, so be wary. Try double-checking with other resources if in doubt.

    According to this: http://www.stowiki.org/Breen_Transphasic_Cluster_Torpedo
    Both, and then some...

I use the clustertorpedo myself, and i can only praise the rule62 console sky high.

Contraire to others, i have it rearside. When I attack, i pass straight by, launching the cluster torpedo. It will then soften up my target just in time for the next pass. (Flying steamrunner).

I did look at the wiki but I thought I'd double check - this game has it's fair share of 'quirks' :)

I'll stick with the compressor then, thanks peeps.

    EDIT:

I use it up front - deal with the shields, fire off the tractor beam and then the torpedo - some days as much as half of the hull melts away (not bad for a cruiser) - the tactic works a little better now I have the cutting beam too.
