Quad Cannon power modifier?

The STO wiki's not exactly clear on this. The item description on the weapons themselves and on the wiki state that it uses -10 weapons power and -10 engine power upon firing.

However, neither the quad phaser cannons or quad disruptor cannons (I have both) seem to draw any weapons power. Even sub-125%.

So, that leads me to ask..

Which (if not both) power system modifies the damage of the quad cannons? Weapons power or engine power?

It has always been my understanding that the quad cannons draw on engine power, and not on weapon power. But I'm no authority.

the thing about the quad is it draws engine power but you will only see the movement if you have a boatload of them. but then again with all the bugs that happen when on is stamped out three more takes its place.

I wonder how the players woud react if pwe stopped releasing things and took the next few months fixing bugs and all the things we thought were nice really turned out to be bugs lol would be hilarious. I wonder how many people would realize it's a bug being fixed and not a nerfing

With the additions of all the S7 bugs/issues, I for one would not have a fit if cryptic publicly went out saying; "We will now, for the next 3 months focus on fixing and cleaning up and optimizing our code. No new stuff whatsoever for the next 5 months, but maintenance patches."

I would stand up and air high five cryptic if they did.

I ended up answering my own question. The quad cannons definitely take advantage of weapons power, but do not draw any weapons power while firing.
