Shuttles/Fighters PvP viable idea.

I remember in my Eve online days, the scale and nature of small craft vs large craft, the large ones (battleships) would never have a chance to kill the small craft (frigates/fighters). It was due to the tracking speeds of the large weapons being unable to hit the small craft, but the small craft couldn`t under normal circumstances kill the large craft with there abizmal dps.
That being said, the small craft in that game had a role to play, to catch the large ships an keep them from escaping so your buddies could catch an kill that large craft with their own large craft.

I purpose the idea in sto to allow in some new up an comming large pvp oriented maps that the shuttle and fighters in sto be given the ability to have a much higher defense rating, weapon accuracy rating, and impules speed modifier rating to give them the ability to elude incoming fire, keeping a target in red alert to allow buddies to catch an kill the target, hence giving them a role in pvp. There damage is already low enough to be balanced as it is, there hp is also balanced for this idea.

My thoughts were some of these pvp maps could be very large and have multiple groups on both sides, with multiple goals, sorta like our cap and hold space, but only much much larger.

My explanation to the defense rating: To allow a shuttle to attack a large starship (cruiser) and not get destroyed right away. To evade fire through shear avoidance, not damage resistance. Would be up to the piolit to use abilities that allow the avoidance from tractors, an other holds.

My explanation to the accuracy rating increase: The best defense from shuttle attack would be a shuttle of your own, the large ships can`t hit the enemie shuttle reliably, so use a shuttle in your group to intercept. It wouldnt need to be huge, just enough to cover the gap to allow the shuttle to preasure the attacking shuttle an be able to kill it. Again the gear an powers used would be far different than the other form of shuttle gearing.

My explanation to the impulse modifier increase: To allow the shuttle to easily catch and maintain its attack on other large ships and/or shuttles. To put them in a class all there own.

My idea is to add another level to pvp in sto for the future. To give a defined role to a class of vessels in sto that are under used. And to provide depth in pvp combat, beyond what currently is available.

So in conclusion, take shuttles as they are for there HP, manuverability, boff and console layout, just increase there defense, impulse speed, and accuracy. To allow them to be used in large scale pvp maps, there balance wouldn`t fit in the current maps, but in the future maps that are much larger and more complex.
