Just a heads up for anyone interested or anyone who has been sitting on the fence about getting the Steam Starter Pack (includes among other things the Blockade Runner Retrofit). It is discounted 50% until January 5th, 2013, meaning it is $12.50 instead of the regular $25.

You can find it here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/9908/

You don't need to run the game through Steam to unlock or use the goodies.

That starter ship and starter pack are worth it for the money alone. I've started 3 new toons and the experience has been all the better for getting this pack.

You get two versions of the Steamrunner, a T1 and a T5 version, and they are account unlock. The additional BOFFS, and other goodies really give you an early boost to your new toons, and can also be opened on existing toons too (if you really want). So all your characters (both new and existing) can benefit from this pack.

It's a no brainer. Give them your money! :D

I think it's the best purchase I have ever made in this game.

    Yup.

I like the design of the ship, even though I would rather have the Thunderchild for my character based on the Anna character from the V The Series TV show. That ship could work as a replacement since I don't have the T5 ship unlocked yet.

AND the T1 ship comes with a special console, a type of shield enhancer.

Probably the best deal to date. Not only do you get a starter ship and special console, you get a purple doff, two green boffs that come equipped with green quality gear and some other bits. You also get a T5 fleet ship with 10 consoles!

Also, these are claimable on any new toon you make as they are account wide!

    Ok,
Download Steam and make account / log in
Double click on the steam icon and find Star Trek on the steam site store - should be top left
Click Download and go through the process
Then go to Library at the top
Right click on STO and in the middle is pause download
One of the options for right clicking on it should be view key or similar
That will be your key to put on to your STO account
Then all you have to do is delete Steam / that copy of STO
When ingame go to the C-Store and look under bundles

Do all of it via the steam programme, not by opening a new window - its easier that way

I picked up this bundle when it was 1st offered for $9.99

I'm pretty much only playing my KDF main but the bundle is worth having.

I picked up the bundle also and I must say the Blockade Runner is a great ship. I'm an ENG Captain and when I tried to fly some other escorts they were just too squishy but this thing has some staying power.

I must concur with said statements.
I am an engie captain, been trying out all kinds of ships, but the steamrunner is definitly the one i have fallen for. It is sturdy, pretty and 'punchy'. Some dhc's, turrets and breen torpedoes, it takes care of a lot of stuff being in my way, going from A to B. :D
