Ground Missions - Not Happy

Hello to whoever happens to read this,

For the last two hours or so myself and a few others have been playing PVE into the hive. To be honest I think it is fair to say that the 4 of us playing were beyond frustrated when after about 20 attempts the mission proved impossible to win.

At the very least you could put an option in to somehow call for volunteers so someone else can step in when someone leaves. It seems however, this basic functionality is too much to ask for.

Alternatively the difficulty could be automatically toned down a notch after a few unsuccessful attempts the difficulty could be automatically toned down a notch, particularly when operating on less than the number of people that should be in the match.

Quite frankly the kind of experience I just had does nothing to give me a good impression of STO and quite frankly leaves a rather sour taste.

Not happy STO.

    Into the Hive is certainly not the best example of an 'easy' ground mission.

    One question: Were you doing it on Elite?
    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
    I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

    Sorry but you just need to rethink ur tactics and try again, it is doable, ive done it, it is hard but doable

    Frankly the borg queen should be a one shot kill with a mk1 weapon

    because she is NOT a Drone and is not some sort of killing machine

    they seem to be thinking Lv426 xenomorph Queen

    For real. Insofar as an MMO will ever have one, this is the final boss at the end of the storyline. Being hard is a good thing.

    Cutscenes that lock out player control while the NPCs wipe your team are not so good, however...

    A return of a refurbished "request reinforcements" button to replace leavers would be nice, I agree.

    fyi it was not elite.

    Tactics were revised several times, even had people out scouring the internet for different techniques that could be used.

    Into the hive is essentially one of the, if not the most, difficult ground missions you can play, regardless of 'difficulty'

    You are infiltrating the HIVE itself, you are trying to kill the queen, IN HER PLAYGROUND,

    If it's too hard, dont run it without seasoned players and excellent gear.

    Hard things are to present a challenge to players, not to present an opportunity for people to cry nerf :)

    (edit: i sound like a jerk in this, i genuinely do not mean to ^^')

    Btw, going to call BS on HGE being hard. Ran it a few nights ago, and we didn't get the opt, but tbh, the Queen was only annoying due to her 20k hp. Total damage output was disappointingly low, and tbh, the elite tac drones she spawned were the only real danger. Well them and the heavies. But my team and I just wiped them out.

    So yeah. You will no longer get any sympathy from me involving HGE. It's just as easy as all the other ground missions.
    It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)
