Sharing builds with fleets?

vitzhvitzh Member Posts: 519
Abstract: Would like a section for fleets in game to share builds with their members that takes the form of a visual layout of your ship, just to make it easier to trade setups. If possible skill sheet setups for fleets as well.

Since we have an option for fleets to set uniforms and share it with a fleet, I was wondering if it was entirely possible to have a section in a fleet where members could share builds plus setups and save them to fleet; so that every member can see how a ship should be fitted exactly.

At the moment we currently have to use third party programs which I've had a look at, and many of the builds I've seen on them are frankly terrible.

Why do this? Well first off it'd save people endlessly using chat in game for what seems like hours. by just telling them to open up a tab in fleet information and see exactly a diagram of your ship fitting. Means they can just see what needs to go where as well as accompanying Bridge Officers to maximise potential.

Would also like if possible: Skill sheet setup tab as well since as some people are poorly spec'd, with a highlighter to put essentials, recommended and optional skill point spends.

Putting aside that part of the fun is the personalized builds - have you ever considered STO Academy's brilliant share your design build feature? Pick your faction, ship, and core skill set and voil? - dozens of great build to choose from - both skills and ships.

    http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/share.php

You can even store your 'fleet required builds' there and people can vote on them.

    Just my two bits.

STO Academy was unfortunately one of the sites I thought the builds were utter nonsense, even ones highly rated. I would rather have a section in my fleet for our own "personal" fleet builds that we could just share with the fleet. There's a few of my "special" builds I don't entirely want circling in the public domain. ;)

you can still use stoacademy...just have your fleet mates name their builds after your fleet+what kind of build it is.

then you can search for your fleets builds.

and yeah, since anybody can post his/her build on that site there will allways be a lot of rubbish.
