Danubes Not Working?

So over the Thanksgiving Sale I picked up an Armitage, equipped it with Danubes, and have spent a week tinkering with it. After all the fury about 'Danube tractor spam being so broken that even Polarize Hull wasn't enough!!1!!!,' I was looking forward to cackling like an Evil Overlord as I squished my helpless targets like insects. (I only do PVE, and the computer doesn't complain if I twink out. Its for silly fun, not seriousness.) However, the Danubes barely ever use their tractor beams, and mostly just fly in circles and suicide off of warp core breaches, whether set to Attack or Intercept or whatever. Its been a letdown and little different from the character's old Patrol Escort.
So whats the deal? Do I have to buy the Advanced Runabouts to get what I want? Or is it a setting I need to change or micromanage? Or is it something from the past that's been nerfed? Or was it all just a bunch of whining and hyperbole, and Danubes aren't actually that power?

How about Advanced Delta Flyers? Are their tractor beams similarly nerfed?
I use the Advanced Runabouts, and they are definitely nerfed.
I am hoping that they would add something to the runabouts to compensate for this nerf.
This is something I just don?t understand, all pets spam something due to the mechanics of there being more than one of them.
Been a while since I flew my HEC, this is true? Makes me really sad and wonder if Delta Flyers would be better, least they have the Tachyon Beam and Torps might do some damage through Shields.
And they needed the nerf. People kept cheese-spamming with danubes and sci-spam, making it very difficult to do anything unless you were loaded with polarize hull, pattern omega, etc.
Maybe it was too much of a nerf. I dunno. I'd have been happy with it just being turned into a weak form of the borg tractor beam. Slightly slow the enemy rather than stop 'em, and make it impossible for all tractor beams combined to completely stop the opponent.
Lucky for the armitage, she still has cannons to fall back on.

I now use the delta flyers on my escort carrier and the peregrine fighters in the Atrox but neither is as deadly as the BoP's I have on my KDF Vo'Quv
So do the Danubes have ANY point now? Without the tractor beam they just seem like a weaker form of Peregrines with thicker hulls.
1st of all why are u angry with PvP-ers, if u have been playing PvP`s u would see how annoying and powerful danubes where. Imagine u are doing... dunno, fleet starbase defense, and u have been constantly tractored, and more and more tractored? U think that would be fun 4 u to play? Also, why the heck are u guys putting freakin danubes,/deltas/peregrines on heavy ESCORT carrier. Just make it simple and better for u and your teammates, use shield repair shuttles ! It`s an ESCORT not a carrier !

If you honestly need things like the Danube ultra-tractoring. . .you're doing something waaay wrong.
Well i'll answer you:
1st because not everyone cares of PVP 95% don't give 2 cents on PvP and if you want PvP then adapt to the situation instead of crying like a kid that some danubes tractor you, use polarize hull, use csv, use ts.
2nd have you ever done fleet defense? have you ever played the new Tau Dewa missions?
Is it FUN for you to spend 90% of the time in fleet defense with weapons offline because some 1000 tholians are all shooting at you? Is it fun to eat 100 heavy plasma torpedoes in one volley? No but we find ways to manage instead of crying NERF the NPCs....
3rd what teammates? He said quite clearly he is a PVE player... and if YOU need someone elses shuttles to keep your own shields up, you should PVE instead of PVP....
PVPers know nothing but complain... OMFG danubes are OP, borg set is OP, jemhadar set is OP, carriers are OP, power siphon drones are OP... Learn to play....
Need, no. Want, yes. After running through those missions too many times to count, I'm bored of playing fair. I want the option to play as Admiral Chuck Norris using W-Summoned Knights Of The Round wielding BFG-9000s buffed with Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start. This is supposed to be fun, not tedium. Something makes the game too easy for you, don't use it, but the option for 'TRIBBLE around like a looney' mode should exist just as much as 'ultra-hard master snob' mode. Instead, every time something comes along that lets me stop playing as serious and just mess around with a little silly in my ships. The One True Build is freaking boring. But instead, every time we get a toy that lets us go a little nuts, whether a PSW3 that can blow stuff up like a Michael Bay movie or the current amusement of tricobalt bombing (which I'm expecting a nerf any patch now), the PVP crew takes a break from their regular condescension (as demonstrated here) and complains about fairness and balance and takes the toys away. Or in this case even more annoying, because I dropped 288,000 dil on a ship for the specific purpose of being OP. Not everyone plays wanting edge-of-the-seat struggles that push you to the edge of your abilities. Some of us just want the Star Trek equivalent of The Expendables, and are getting tired of Stop Having Fun Guys wrecking it.

It's an Escort Carrier.
I think you missed the second word there, and the hangar bay the ship comes with.
Not to mention your logic, of which there is little, says to use one type of hangar pet over another type of hangar pet because it's an Escort.
