Doomsday

goldenavarielgoldenavariel Member Posts: 110 Arc User
I've been playing very casually since September and really enjoying the story but I'm stuck at the Doomsday device. It's an excellent mission but after 3 or 4 attempts (yes, I've lost count) where it fails to register that I've completed it, I'm getting very tired of it.

I've tried dropping the mission but they just give it back to me. It is starting to look like I'm never going to get to do any story missions beyond that one.

Is there anything at all that I can do to try and get past this? Could a GM help? Because frankly, if there is no way past this I might as well stop playing now. The frustration factor is too high.

You should be able to skip the mission if you go to the episodes list in your journal (default "J" button I think).

If you are looking to just move past it, do a skip. You may also consider filing a bug ticket if it's really bothering you. Can't say if they will get back to you, but it doesn't hurt to try.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.

On the occasions I faced this issue, it was usually after having warped out of the mission map (through legitamate prompt) after the mission ended. So, these days, as a precaution, I usually try to turn in the mission (by hailing starfleet etc) before leaving the final mission map. Most missions allow this, so I'd give it a go with Doomsday if you feel up to another run, otherwise skip it.

Exactly the information I was looking for. But I don't see it. There is a drop button but I know that doesn't work to move on. How do I "skip" a mission?

If you want to complete it, send me a ingame PM or mail me ingame.

I can pick up the mission an we can put a team together

The reward from it is pretty nice, hate for you to lose out on one of the more popular torps in the game.

hopefully if you pick up the mission and team up with someone it will complete, you can also gain accolades from it.

Look on the Episodes tab, scroll down through the klingon war and the skip button is there, the 'in progress' tab only allows you to drop or turn in missions.

The problem I once had with this mission, not being able to collect the reward after warping out, did occur on a run where I didn't destroy the escort in the beginning of the mission.

You have to disable one ship, the one you're going to board and use for the main mission and destroy another one that has a role as an escort. You got engaged in a fight with both. At one moment the main ship was disabled and I got the message to board it. OK, I thought, forget about the other one ... wel, it didn't work for me.

The last time I ran the mission was the first time I noticed the objective to kill the escort. I wasn't sure which was the escort but assumed it was the only other ship moving around a lot. By the time I finished the Targ it was hovering around by the station with the other klingons so I shrugged and went on.

Ok, I'll give it one more go. I'll be sure to destroy the escort as well and hail starfleet while still in the mission - a habit I started last night and plan to continue.

    Thanks for the help guys.

One last question... which torp? Don't recall if there was a choice of more than one or not now.

The Har'pheng. I just love and have it almost on all my ships, Fed and KDF. Good luck btw.
