Can we expect a Hirogen vessel eventually?

Since all the Feddies keep asking about new toys to throw their wallets at, I might as well mention one that I don't think many people mention.

What are the chances of there being a Hirogen lockbox or Hirogen Federation/KDF specific vessel (preferably KDF)? Could be interesting to see what kind of special abilities the devs wizard up for it, if they were to make it.

Go ahead, speculate away. I'm all ears. What game-breaking changes would people like to see on such a ship?

Ehh...if there were Hirogen ships, and there was no Hirogen lockbox or anything, those ships would probably be ships for a Romulan faction, if there was one.

As for what to see, that is a good question. I'm honestly unsure.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Hard to say with the Hirogen... none of their ships really stood out at all. There were one-off forehead-alien-of-the-week ships on Voyager than I can remember more clearly than anything the Hirogen were flying, even after fighting them in STO for a couple years. So with that in mind, I wonder if Cryptic would even bother putting a Hirogen ship in a lockbox.

I mean, the Kazon had ships that I can remember, and people liked them even less than the Hirogen, so...

    Pfft. Voyager. Am I right?

Way I figure it, the Breen will get the next lockbox ship, and after that it's pretty much a toss-up. A Merchantman? The shuttle that Tom Paris "fell in love with"? Sisko's ancient Bajoran sailship? That fictitious Husnok battlecruiser? Who knows!
    Relax.

Well, just to get something started:

In the non-canon novelizations I've read, Hirogen vessels have been described as fairly robust vessels (monotanium hulls, etc), with lots of speed, offensive firepower, and tracking abilities.

Right off the bat, I'd say the vessel sensors/perception need a strong innate resistance to confuses and jams. Given their demonstrated proficiency at tracking opponents, this only makes sense. The hulls could have a higher innate resistance of some sort, whether it be kinetic or energy-specific resistance. Have the impulse modifier be .21 or .22 (since Cryptic doesn't seem to care about special lockbox ships leaving supposedly fast vessels like the BoPs in the dust).

Since Boarding Party is a generally useless skill in PvP (and I only consider PvP to be a worthy test of the lockbox ships), it wouldn't make sense to give the ships a boost in that, so scratch that kind of thing out. . .

In the first episode that the Hirogen are shown in Voyager, they're shown using a stun beam of some sort (as I recall). Perhaps a universal console that stuns and saps power a bit? Or something like a super-subnuke, both stunning the opponent and doing a one-time reset of all boff ability cooldowns?

These are just concepts off the top of my head.

That's the thing, I'm theorizing what Cryptic might scrape off the bottom of the barrel after the Breen and Andorian ships are out. Pickings are getting a tad slim. . .

I'd love to see a Hirogen warship
    http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/stmagazine/hirogen-cgi.jpg

I'd especially love a Devore warship
    http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Devore_warship

    OR a Vidian warship
    http://www.ditl.org/pagimage.php?Type=otherships&ItemID=6&ImageID=1

I'd really love a Krenim warship
    http://www.st-intelligence.com/ship_database/fed/kwar.php

    Or a hierarchy ship
    http://drexfiles.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/hierarchy-ship-voyager/

And these are just from Voyager, there are still ships from DS9 and Next Gen I would love too :D

I think they have a few ships they could still draw upon.

I think the Krenim timeship would make an awesome Fleet Action. Year of Hell did heavily imply that it could happen again, after all...

Also, more Kurtwood Smith is always a good thing. :D

Meh, I don't want more timeships in the game. The Wells and Korath are enough, imo.

But yeah, perhaps I misspoke. . .there's a lot of ships they could use. I would prefer they be ships that can be tied into the game more directly, though. . .the Hirogen are already here (inexplicably), so why not use them first? :)
