Old / New Ships

I dont know if this has been Mentioned before.

Its great that we have Awesome starter ships, Connie, Oberth, NX 01 Enterprise, and even more Trek ships as we level up, Connie Refit, Nebula, Galaxy, Soon to be Ambassador Class,
etc etc.

I do enjoy how PWE is moving to make "Refit / Fleet" Level of some of these ships,

And I understand that the whole crafting thing is getting a revamp in the near future.

Would it not be nice to be able to "Craft" our existing ships into better "Tier 5 / fleet level" ships ?

sounds like a intriguing idea, not sure how practical it would be though.

CBS is vehemently blocking a T5 Connie.

I think it would be more... practical if you could upgrade your ships rather than having to purchase a new one every 10 levels. At every rank, you should get a drydock token or something; such the token allows you to do one of two things: #1 Select a brand new starship, or #2 Upgrade your existing starship to match the next tier.

There are five ranks, thus five tokens. The tokens should be available through the Zen Store too so that you can (eventually) upgrade any and all of your ships to Tier #5/#6.

Unfortunately, they already have a working system, and to rework that now after so much time and effort has been put into it, that would be illogical and impractical.

Im not asking for a T5 Connie, (I Already know they said No)

And to impliment this I dont think they have to re work their entire system just add onto it.

I know we have a lot of ships already but Why cant we keep the same ship (through Crafting Upgrades) to have it equivilent to a T5 Ship,

I mean A T5 Miranda, or Oberth class would be pretty sweet.

I love having MORE ship options as level 50, and I would love for Crafting to mean something more then it does now. I kinda find it sad to have a ship for 10 levels then essentally have it be uselss and i have to dismiss it.

I do like to change up ships every now and again, and a Miranda would be fun to fly around in. or the Akira, or nebula, or any of the other low level ones.

I want a T5 Connie equivalent. A modern day cruiser. They had at least two (Excalibur and Exeter-class's) but they kept them at T2 levels. Why? Oh because a Connie is outdated by todays standards. AGREED, that's why we're talking about Excalibur's and Exeter's. They look similar but the technology is vastly superior.

If I can't have the Connie then give me something that at least looks similar. My kit bashed Assault Cruiser is nice looking, but it just isn't what I want.

And my bigger complaint over all is: How many ships did Kirk command? Picard? Sisko? Janeway or Archer?

I think the max number is 3.

How many ships have you commanded? I don't know about you, but once I get the ship I want, I want to keep it and not be forced to upgrade to something I really didn't care to fly in the first place.
Foundry missions: "Salvaged" and "Preemption (Federation)" brought to you by the former "Tom_Riker01".

I'd love a T5 Exeter. Especially, since it's supposed to be the newest of the cruisers. Kinda makes sense, that Starfleet would want to update one of their more recent techno toasters. Massive ships like the Odyssey just aren't appropriate for all situations. Hell, it's newer than the Excelsior, and doesn't have a fleet version?

Mostly, I just love the way that ship looks. It's got the classic Trek ship silhouette, but nicely updated. I was never a fan of the saucer aesthetic that the Excelsior ushered in. Always looked a bit overinflated. (Why the people making the shows used it on the NX, I'll never know.)

Is CBS blocking the refit Constitution from T5, or just the TOS version? I can see the TOS version, but the refit is contemporary with the Excelsior.

Picture this from a business stand point though. If u were pwe and u decided to give people the option to simply upgrade their lower tier ships to make them equivilent to the end game vessels, sales would plumet. No one would bother buying a C-store ship anymore if they could simply upgrade their lower tier ships. Thats why they would never let it happen. U cant even really get the Fleet ships for free, u still have to buy the fleet modules. Does this make sense?
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us.
*Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us.
*Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.
