It seems a lot of fleets are giving up or about to over the Fleet marks - fact is they don't want to have to run the same content every day to get some marks. You don't want them do give up on bases. The logical thing is to give the players what the want.
Increase the Officer of the Watch daily to 50 Fleet marks
Even better would be to add in a token amout of Dilthium(yes there are lots of alts so this would have to be small - but a few hundred would be good)
One of the side benifits would be that people become more contected to their bases and there would be more activity there every day.
Players please chime in if you support this - perhaps Cryptic will make the change before it's too late for a lot of fleets.
Inside your fleet embassy there right in the middle of the room a npc that gives you a daily for 5 fleet marks like officer of the watch. It involves beaming up to your ship and scanning a satellite. I did it once and went to the map marker and didn't see the damn thing. Realized it was high above me. They should increase that to 50 fleet marks too. Also increase the damned lousy amount in fleet actions. Did Federation Fleet Alert the other day shortly before and also during the 2 hour extra fleet marks event. Before the event we were successful and all I got was 17 marks. During the event upon successful completion I got 26 fleet marks. Whoopie friggen doo.....a whole 8 more marks during the event. It sucks. 1 fleet I'm in is kinda stalled due to needing fleet marks for most of the projects going right now and nobody seems to want to contribute any. :P
You got my vote. 5 Fleet Marks for a Starbase or Embassy daily, no matter how simple the assignment may be, is too small an amount, especially when you have to put your Transwarp on cooldown, or undertake the long-distance haul from wherever you may be to the Starbase, or to New Romulus.

i say give every toon in a fleet 50 FREE marks just for logging in. or 30. whatever.
I like the fundamental idea here, players in fleets should get a stipend of fleet marks for every hour of active game play, no matter what content they run.
I don't know if it needs to be 50 (could be 25, doubling during the fleet event), but yeah, the 5 marks it gives aren't worth the detour to most players as far as I know. Now whether that means there needs to be a change...
One well played starbase incursion a day gets close to that 50 mark. A well played blockade exceeds it.

I'll let the Dev's decide how many.
You kinda do. Once every hours of playing you can stroke your tribble (assuming you have one of them) granting you either 1 fleet mark or 5 dilithium ore.
THAT is how much your time is worth to the devs. Asking for more will get you nothing.

Yes, but go try that on KDF side. Fleet actions don't even start outside of Fleetmarkevents (and even then there can be waiting times of up to 30 minutes).
Only those giant 500+ player fleets have reached tier 4. We definitly need better options to obtain fleetmarks for small and medium sized fleets. Or just give us the option to turn in our massive (and almost worthless) pile of fleet credits for marks!
Maybe not dilithium, but using it to gather marks would ease the burden hugely on any fleet.
Even if my fleet didn't need the marks for normal projects, I could save them up on all my toons and wait for a big upgrade to dump the whole bundle in at once.
After all, it IS just a daily still. Farming alts or not, it wouldn't hurt anybody to use that. Not Foundry, not the dil exchange (if it gave no dil), nobody. It could only help.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
25 at most would be fair. Personally I think 10 would be better.
I think instead of raising the rewards and the easy content just because people are lazy, rewards need to be increased on the Fleet Marks missions that actually take effort. I say double it all; 10 for the Officer of the Watch and an average of 40 for all the other marks missions except No Win Scenario.
I'd like to see it increased, but they are never going to increase it to 50. if team based missions that require some skill and coordination dont offer 50 then they are not going to give them away on officer of the watch dailies, especially now there are 2 of them.
this would also damage the need to do the events and that would hurt the number of people who queue for them. the team based content has to be more attractive than the solo stuff.
i'd rather see all fleet missions across the board give extra on what they do, then no matter what you play you get better rewards.
Cryptic should split the "investigate officer reports" daily into two dailys, the longer one which requires longer foundry missions should give out 2400 dilithium and the shorter one for console clicker missions should give out the 50 fleet marks...
It would be a win win solution for everyone by giving out more dilithium for the players time spent and the easy 50 fleet marks needed by smaller fleets...
But its cryptic we are talking about they would probably need 50 meetings, "new tech" and 6 months to develop the "new tech" then it would be buggy as hell for a few months after release !
I fully support this. With the loss of the marks from the Foundry daily, my fleet's progress had died. We just don't have any desire to play those missions anymore. We're getting marks only from the few of us who are tier 4 in DOFF turning in XP.
I would like to see the reward increased as well. Dropping what your doing; flying out to the starbase and all for 5 fleet marks, when most of our starbase projects require 1500 marks, or more is absolutely not worth the time.
That and if I hear from the officer of the watch one more time "Vice Admiral; I am glad your here, I have a job worthy of your skills, time, and talents. You see, one of our officers misplaced their PADD, can you go find it?" he is going to be personally inspecting every inch of the hull of the starbase by hand; and probably sans an enviroment suit.

Yeah kind of funny. I do think that this Job worthy of your skills would needs to also be worthy of your time.
Cryptic is missing a big opportunity here for people to feel somewhat connected to this virtual starbase if you real went there ever day and did something that granted you decent marks.
Forcing people to do something - like tedo the same missions over and over - eventually leads to resentment and failure.
So they need to up this to at least 25 marks and up the rewards on the other missions as well if they want people to continue to play them.
Zinc: The universe of Star Trek Online is shaped and changed by the actions of the players...expect to see new planets and races discovered that were unknown the last time you logged in."
People are just worn out with the grind - 50 would be good but I am sure players would still be happy with 25
The dilthium sinks are staying so this decision if it keeps many bases going is a no-brainer move by Cryptic.

That or they add Fleet Marks to other Events as well.
In the Ask Cryptic, Dstahl said Fleet Marks is going to be added to PvP. Then again nobody wants to PvP (especially with public queues). And right now the Azure Nebula Event gives a small 10-13 Fleet Marks for completeting.
What Cryptic really needs to do is add Fleet Marks to STFs and increase the Fleet Mark rewards in the Romulan Events.
That or Cryptic starts scaling Starbase Projects based on Fleet Size. (Because I'm sure they are worried about alts mining Fleet Marks, which it scaling would stop alts because the more alts you got in a fleet, the higher the costs).

I said that before S7 went live. Have it scale.
That way all players no matter the fleet size have to input the same amount of materials.
Solves the problem of bigger fleets having members who can't contribute cause the projects insta fill, as well as solve smaller fleets issue of having a huge price to pay per player for the same thing.
Unless this happens, big and small fleets will continue to groan about the problem.

Even when I'm in the base, it doesn't seem like it's worth detouring 50 feet for. I'd rather veg in front of the dance floor.
So... No loss. But without story OR incentive, this is pretty much my reaction to content.
The question is would you do it for 25 or 50 marks?
This would be a perfect solution.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
This would be very nice
I agree on OotW giving 50 Fleet Marks.
I ALSO agree on it giving Dilithium.
I don't have my panties in a wad worrying about people with more alts and time than I do.
Cryptic better do something soon - or their dilthium sink bases are going to come to a grinding halt.
