Systems Designer Andrew "ArchonCryptic" Rowe reveals details about the upcoming Fleet Support Duty Officer Pack in this entry of the Season 7 News Dev Blog series.
Gonna have to pass on this one.
The new doffs are neat for sure.
I look forward to buying a couple from the xchange.
Problem is that the grand prize, while nice, is something I can get from the exchange for around all of 20 million ec. Not that much work to get.
And none of the special other items are that appealing either.
Thanks for the new pack, and all.
I just don't see any use for it in my game.
Well, looks like the artifact and mark 12 console markets are gonna crash just like the doff market has crashed in the past few days. Time to find another new EC source...
Still, I like the sound of that new damage control engineer power.
EDIT: Okay, apparently the previous pack had artifacts and consoles and I never noticed. Which makes sense, considering I don't blow my zen on RNG packs. I'm just being a pessimist (as usual). Also, Murphy's law and all that jazz.
The opinions expressed in my posts are not necessarily those of my employer or Subspace Radio.

Can we get a look at the Doff listings on the exchange? There's still things like the Warfare Specialists that need their own categories and we're getting more added....please?

Yes please! Frankly all of my tac doffs from the fleet are just going straight back into the fleet
So whatever happened to the discussions about raising the DOFF limit above 400? Heretic had said it was being discussed internally before he left months ago.
It would honestly be cheaper to just buy 4 fleet modules....
Naturally, but its not the point of this offering is it? The question is, if you are in it for the DOFFs then is it compelling?
I can imagine that most people who DOFF and who buy such packs for DOFFs may see those possible DOFF CXP orientated bonuses as the perfect incentive. I just hope they don't trivialize the attainment of attaining CXP (especially if stacked).
I'm beggining to wonder what a "Viral Matrix ago ago" build would look like. I mean I went with "Gravity Well Ago ago" but this seems slightly more funny.

The doffs alone are never compelling, I normally just buy them off the exchange if their worth the value.
I'm a heavy doffer.. all 6 of my main toons are fully slotted with purple doffs for example (save one melee doff on my kdf tact, that one is a blue)...
From past example, wait for them to discontinue the pack... it will have a ship and lobi added to it then...
I see Lobi crystals are not mentioned - does this mean that those of us already foolish enough to be saving them for certain items like the Temporal weapons, etc., in the Lobi store - but still short of the goal - are basically SOL?

why? if you think they bring extra power to people's builds you can always use those doffs .If you dont want to pay money you can always buy them with ec.Is not like you are banned from having them,

Yes - especially since you are guaranteed to get them when you buy them directly...

Lobi only gets added when they do the whole "We're removing the pack in 2 weeks" sale. Happened with the GQ packs and then the RI packs... it will happen with these..

Agreed ... I read the bit on the grand prize and thought to myself ... It's cheaper to buy those modules outright.
Besides, doing the doff grinder in fleet projects ruined DOFFing for me.
with 160$ you buy 58 packs x5 mills ec each =290.000.000ec more than enough to buy one and buy the best weapons and consoles for it.
You dont deserve that ship because you are not fit for the task called math
I doubt he expected to spend that much. You just keep buying packs hoping the next one will have the ship. Only when you finally add up all you've spent do you realise you could have bought it by selling keys. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.;)
after spending $160 and not getting a bug ship I am going to pass on this and all others.
Don't gamble. Or at least don't do high risk gambling.
You could have (should have) bought reinforcement packs, sold them on the exchange they were regularly 4.5-5 million each and sometimes a spec more.
50 dollars in zen would then get you 5300 zen points = 19 reinforcement packs = 90 million credits worth (with some zen left, at a rate of 4.7 million per pack). 150 dollars worth would have netted you 270 million credits, which was enough for a bug, + some gear.
The other lockbox ships are basically the same, you're better to buy the most valuable EC/zen item and sell it on the exchange and use the money to buy the thing you want.
The only time you want to actually open lockboxes etc. yourself is if you need lobi for the bind on pickup items or if you have several hundreds of dollars to spend and hope averages do you favours. The lobi thing of course guarantees a certain supply of items as people get stuff they can't use while getting lobi.
You are generally better with a reasonably fixed cost and risk, trying to get one rare item is on average, a bad strategy.

And I hope that the Aceton doff does not affect Karfi frigates.
^See to this as well please...
Completely agree.
...so what do you guys think, where on the exchange we can find "Consultants" when they are released? "All" and "Advisors" would be my guess...
Interesting...
interesting....

"Nope. Dont need to use, useless, dont need, dont need, Not goign to use, too situational, useless, dont need dont need dont need."

Maybe Cryptic is seeing not too many folks are willing to cough up 20 bucks for an extra console slot and some hull/shield improvements.
