Does anyone know how often first contact missions are supposed to appear? I've had one since I got high enough Diplomatically a month or so ago but that's all. I thought there would have been more than that. I can't find anything searching the forum or in the wiki indicating any kind of frequency.
I think you have to call up the missions screen, look up the ambassador, then hail him to find out what sector has the diplo run for the day...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

The FC mission system seems hosed. I haven't been offered one reliably since Season 3 (IE this issue occurred way back when they launched Season 4.) Bugged it MANY times, but it appears it's either EXTREMELY low priority; or they just have no clue how to correct whatever issues were introduced with Season 4.

This bums me out! I was so excited to reach rank four because I looked forward to doing first contact missions. Oh well... at least now I know I'm not doing something 'wrong'. Appreciate the information.
I always see at least two FC missions available under the Ambassador you can Hail in the Available Missions tab. They list the sector, I Accept it and warp to that sector to find the mission appearing as a button in the lower right hand side of my HUD. I don't usually see more then two in a 24 hour period, but the ones I do see always seems to work.
Are they ever gonna fix this? I was really looking forward to playing these missions and haven't gotten a single one since I completed the first one days ago.
I just reached tier 4 diplomacy a few days ago and learned the voting rights thing on DS9 was long abandoned. As was the First Contact missions. I learned that soon after reaching tier 3.
I think the devs should should review the in-game doff system overview and rewrite the wording for end rewards for tier 3 and 4 Diplomacy because a lot of people are being mislead at the moment. It's not a big deal to me, but it might be a big deal to others.
EDIT: The contact for the Tier 4 Voting rights is still there on the upper level of the DS9 promenade, but we cannot interact with her anymore. Maybe she should be removed or better still, a new purpose for her be created and that purpose be added as a tier 4 Diplomacy reward to replace the old one? Just an idea.
How about a daily Diplomacy mission similar to the beginning of the mission "Second Wave" of the 2800 FE. (except not so long winded).
You have multiple contacts on DS9... Someone needs something and some one has something to trade, but these people don't exactly get along. So, you as the player act as a "Middle man" to reach a peaceful and fair agreement that suits both parties. It might take a little running around between about 3 or 4 contacts to get the job done but there would be a reward at the end.
You could pick the mission up from the Contact on the upper Promenade (Same contact that I spoke of above and which is already there and no longer in use aka Admiral Karebbah) and take it from there. The reward could be something along the lines of 100 Diplomatic XP, 50 Fleet marks and 480 Dilithium upon completion.
Such a mission would not only put a little more usefulness back into DS9 again since the Omega Rep change but also give the Tier 4 Diplomacy achievement purpose and reward also.
Again... it's just a suggestion off the top of my mind after only a few minutes thought! lol... Maybe some of you guys could come up with something better?

Strange. The Diplomatic Investigations and First Contact missions seem to work for me, from the Available Missions tab.
Laws of thermodynamics as applied to life: 0 - You must play the game. 1 - You can't win. 2 - You can't break even. 3 - You can't quit.
I had my first First Contact mission two weeks ago and haven't been offered another since. Two days ago I made it to Federation Ambassador so I guess it doesn't really matter anymore, but I would have enjoyed obtaining the diplomatic XP by doing First Contact missions instead of delivering commodities all over the galaxy. Delivering goods sounds more like a Trade thing than a Diplomacy thing.

Suggestions anyone?

I've done exactly one First Contact mission. It has never come up again. A bummer, since it was much more interesting.
