Random Enterprise

neoakiraiineoakiraii Member Posts: 7,468 Arc User
So yesterday I did Japori system with my main and nothing happened, today I did the same mission with my Alt, and out of no where The Enterprise showed up, so I'm assuming this is random...but I want to know is it just that mission or will it show up in other New Romulan space missions ?

Hmmm... there have been a few of these reports lately. Another poster said they saw an Iconian ship in another system. I wonder what other random things you might see?

Happens randomly on the kdf side as well, just with the Bortasqu showing up and rampaging over the map, well, if the npcs would not die so fast.

I saw a giant box of cereal, a rowboat with warp nacelles, and an anthropomorphic mexican food product warp into a patrol mission once.

    Not really.

I can confirm this, saw it yesterday during the Nimbus and Suliban patrol.

I was wondering if the Iconians was a bug like the Wells was on patrols before. Had the Enterprise F drop by and dump a Tricobalt Device 3 in my fight, certainly shakes things up.

I interrupted the The Enter-F fighting renegade Klingons today. I wish my Ody had the same stats as it did. :D

I haven't seen the random Enterprise yet, or the Box of cerial (pretty sure that last one was a joke).

I've bumped into the rowboat, though. I think it was JamJamz. It'd be nice to see that again.

I had Captain Shon drop out of warp in the Japori system the other day. He used a Tricobalt Torpedo Spread on a Nausicaan Siphon Frigate. He knows how to go after a fly with a bazooka. Other than that, I barely recognized his presence as my DPS spec tore through the pirates like a disruptor through a piece of toilet paper.

Hmmm. So some player's like the random appearance of the Big F. Others feel it's a bit of overkill? I recall some of us suggested that randomness once Shon and the Enterprise-F was formally introduced. I'm glad the Devs ran with that.

I responded to a Romulan distress call and had the Ent-F drop in saying "good to see we're not the only ones who answer distress calls!".

Since it was the first time I'd done that mission, I thought it was what happened every time! Have to say I like the idea of these subtle variations on the same mission theme.

I had a Bortas'Qu* War Cruiser help me in one of them on the KDF side.
Was pretty awesome, it even assigned it's pet Hoh'Sus* BoP to follow me around.

*(or however it's spelled/grammared, I never was any good at the Klingon language) :P

I saw the big E today. I was on a mission and I heard a voice over that said "Could you use a hand?" or something. I thought, "Was that? Naw, not in a patrol mission." Then I zoomed out and the Enterprise flew by and fired a torpedo spread way cooler than mine.

i came across the Enterprise-F in the Archer system 2 days ago, and today a friend and i found them working the japori system, i knew we had found him as once he spoke and said it was good to see he was'nt the only one patrolling the system, that we were in the presence of the big E.. i am so glad they incorporated the ship into random encounters, it gives that feeling that the flagship is out doing what the enterprise does best and thats explore..

I don't know if anyone here ever played the old Escape Velocity games, but most of the devs at Ambrosia inserted themselves into those games as uniquely named NPC ships, with random and not-so-random odds of appearing in various systems doing various things and with humorous hail quotes.

I'm not saying that the Cryptic devs should do the same thing, but... well, actually, I totally am. Do that. Please. With accolades for spotting all of them.
    Relax.

    Wait... the rowboat is real?

Think of it as the infamous pirate ship, the Black Pearl. Even if it's just JamJamz out for a random spin around sector space, I love that it might be out there somewhere. The harbinger of who knows what? :P Besides, it's more Trek. Like Kirk's encounter with Abe Lincoln speaking from a monument over an alien world. Or that 1936 Ford truck that Janeway found adrift in the Delta Quadrant.

I LOVED that game (and its sequels), and would also love to see the devs flying around and helping us out once and a while. Funny thing is, unlike EV, the devs can actually show up "in person" (though apparently they'll never tell us who they are in game - unless it's Branflakes ).

...Okay, I have to say? This is the single handedly *coolest* thing to have added to Season 7, and has, on its own, made me want to keep playing content.

The only way it could be better is if sometimes you wound up having to save the Enterprise (or some other named NPC ship) :P

When i ran across the Enterprise, it was in Japori. Now i dont know if it was the mission, Or someones voice, but i heard "It looks like you could use some help" over my speakers.
It struck me as odd, because ive never had a voice come from a mission like that.
