How long until we can pay to bypass the Reputation timers?

stealthriderstealthrider Member Posts: 2 Arc User
When will we be able to buy bypasses for the Reputation timers?

It's clear that's what you had in mind when you implemented the timers, Cryptic. You plan on monetizing skips.

It's the only rational reason I can see for adding these pointless, disgustingly long timers to the Reputation system.

So when will these be available, and for how much?

I'd rather they remove the timers for everyone and not have to go through this nonsense, but that doesn't seem like an option so instead i'd like to know when my last day will be.

I think the reputation timers are conta-productive. Instead of making me to log every day, they basically tell me to log once per 2 days.

Your last day is the day when you decide not to play anymore.

There needs to be something that keeps subscribers feeling like their money is worth something. Anything that makes the game more accessible to those who are actually paying money to play should be done. And I am all for putting Dilithium and/or time gates on advancing through tiers of gameplay as a Free to Play user. But if I decide to subscribes, those gates need to be open to me at all times.

but see PWE as was told dont want subs they want you put 5 here 10 there one week leave for ever how long come back repit it all over again

Same here except I play multiple toons so one day I'll play on my tac, sci the next and finally my engineer.

I don't think the timer is meant to make money directly through dilthium but is supposed to stretch out the romulan content until next season.

Take the time off to do other things in the game, doffs, stfs, fleet actions, missions whatever you like. We complained about the grind and now you can't grind the romulan content and that makes us upset too. Can't have it both ways.

Yes, yes we can have it both ways.

All they needed to do was put the Mk XII gear on the old vendors for EDCs. Problem solved, no need for this nonsense.

The Romulan content would have been absolutely fine if it was available without these timers.

I do not like the grind, but since I will have to do it, I would prefer to have done asap, than to stretch it and drag for months...but hey, that's just me.

I thought we were talking about monetizing these timers, I didn't mention anything about MK XII gear.

If you monetize these timers people will have the new Romulan content done in a week and now we have another Nukara Prime/Deferi Zone. This way we have people visiting New Romulus and stretch out it's content.

Of course we could monetize them to speed it up, can't see anything wrong with that.

"Monetizing" them was intended to be a *bad* thing.

They should not exist at all. Period.

All I can say to this is to give it a chance. People complain about grinding and here is something that we can take the time to enjoy. This game really isn't only about getting the best gear all the time or in this case skills. Explore New Romulus get some accolades, do some diplomacy make a new friend (I heard you can get a pet).

Now when you log in you can spend 30 minutes a day and explore a new part of New Romulus as you rank up the Reputation System. Instead of running another STF for dilithium where at the end of the day you're not really sure if you played STO. :D

I don't think this has anything to do with Monetizing, well not directly at the very least.

By doing it the way they do, they guarantee that players have something to do for X months, no matter how much they play. So if there are ever situations again like in the past where two weeks after a major update people complain that they've already seen everything, this time they'll just point you to the reputation system and tell you to finish that.

There will also be no money option to speed things up as that would counteract this.

If they remove them, expect the resource requirements to multiple x 100, then watch all the crying. Just leave them as they are.

At least we'd be able to actually DO something about the resource costs. I can't "wait harder," but I can sure as hell play harder.

Heh, well you can get to the content faster with cash - remember tiers only unlock permission to buy gear.

Or maybe it would be more accurate to say "less slowly". But I couldn't agree more, the gates are obviously there to prolong content no doubt.

Now they have metrics for themselves, numbers cut in stone, that tell them exactly the number of minutes they have left before they have to have the next reputation ready.

More than the time I have to put in I am more concerned about the rewards for doing it.

I already have everything from stf...

Security beam down as a consumable ? Already have it as a permanent on my tactical.
Passive stats ? Doing fine already
Unlock 5 tiers for purple fighters ? Have them already, and if I didn't, it's just 30 k instant buy, why would I waste 5 tiers on something there is already available.
Romulan outfit ? Unlocked by the embassy, not the reputation system.

And so on and so on. For me it's like is there even anything in there I'd buy if I really didn't have anything else to go for.
Plus why would I throw resources away at t1 items when they get upgraded anyway.

I don't think the rewards would be good stand-alone, like if they were unlocked right now they'd still be weak.
After you add 3 months of grinding for them I don't know what to call them.

Safe to say the reputation system will not carry my gameplay or have items I am working towards.
