Meow, apparently we will not see a Romulan faction in the style of a Klingon faction or even in the size of Starfleet faction, so the next faction is again the Borg ... I don't think so. There are still Dominion-Cardassian lovers (like me) out there who will hopefully purrvail against a Borg faction.
Really, the True Way has a lot of potential and they are individual minds and can be played much better than a Borg collective.

I am down for whatever people want I was just saying they already have the animations and skins for plenty of borg gear.
Just slap some stats on there and out the door.
However storywise I don't know how it would make much sense, we started diplomatic trading with them while blowing them out of the sky every map we play.
well i dont really care if that fits for you. it was an example of how i thought so when you ask me, if i really think they could pull out a borg faction, i explain you how i think and thats what i did. i dont know what else they did and i dont like to know as i am a star trek fan and thats why i play this game. i could try and find another analogy but then i have to figure out, if they did something similar like that before and i wont waste time for this.
Then just stay away from using analogies then. Quite simple.
As far as a Borg faction, too many restraints and too many things they will have to run by CBS which probably told them no already thus we have such limited Borg options in this game.

i think most of us just wanna be borg in general like lirbareted
but i think alot of people will be satified if we just get a borg lock box ship!
which will give us like a sphere or a diamond!
everyone wants the damn cube but its obvisously tooo big!!
a sphere or diamond would be more likely able to be freed from the borg collective
unless u think about star trek voyager they meet a cube ship with only lik 5 borg on it
I would prefer to see a neutral mixed or minor species faction with all different types of ships and species to play with access to all the content from both factions depending of their reputation with the factions.... you could play as traders/privateers or mercs.... and if that means the odd Borg vessel being added for that faction then why not?
I think it would be really really awesome if you were a liberated Borg character and had a complete Borg away team option that look like the Borg you get from KA Ground.
I would love to walk around with my "Clink" Army...

Borg faction, dont be so stupid, as other have already said, the borg have no free will, single minded . What will you be wanting next to play as the Q , give us cardassians, feregni, dominion faction or anthing that is indeed playable, but the borg, no way.
The only way to tie playable borg in with any sort of Star Trek canon would be to go back to Hugh's liberated borg cooperative. There was never any follow-up to the events of "Descent, parts 1 and 2". Did the Borg re-assimilate them? Did they simply become a coloney and stay out of the Collective's way?
...
Just giving a serious treatment to this topic.
Whatever it is, it would have to be something that requires minimal work from Cryptic, limited to asset creation only...
Yes. And I've said this before but they'd probably describe themselves as a "Constitutional Monarchy" and their rank structure would probably be feudal/noble.
So you might have Borg Lords, Ladies, Barons, Baronnesses, Dukes, Duchesses, maybe an elite guard. Also lots of math puns/in-references. (The titles could be for the ruling class. Maybe player ranks would be "of Six," "of Five," etc. all the way through max rank "of One.")
Maybe with a schtick so that instead of "Rogue" Borg (like "Hugh") or "Cooperative" (which sounds too fuzzy) they get called something like the Borg Hierarchy.
If I were to look at this quasi-politically like Trek does, where the Collective is a critique of Communism in opposition to Trek's Socialism, it would probably be all about Randianism/Exceptionalism gone horribly wrong. Borg by way of Bioshock. With an Ayn Rand type Queen. You begin as part of the lesser Collective and prove/earn your status as an exceptional individual, worthy of commanding the lesser masses through your will.
i don't want a Borg LockBox Ship *meh* i want a Borg FACTION.
Why? Because the gameplay would have to be something completely different from what we have now.
For the same reason i don't really want a Romulan Faction, because it will just be another Fed Faction with Green UI and Warbirds and broken as intended cloaking device.
Ferengi, that are all about currency would be a close 2nd, but with how STO is going i don't think that would be that much different after all (and i got my Ferengi Char with D'Kora anyway).
And keeping with the Bioshock theme (and as a nod to Armin Shimerman being the Ayn Rand figure in that game), I'd probably play with the idea that Quark introduced the rogue Borg of Hugh's group to free market economics and they went crazy with it.
Which takes the Borg back to their zombie roots as a critique of consumerism, which is what George Romero's zombies were.
do you ppl even remember the poll back in year one of the game asking what Faction we wanted nex can any of you guess who beat borg? if i am thinking is right borg was last so i dont see borg coming before romulan and i dont even see them no more
The Diamond in "Dark Frontier" Part 2 went out through the same opening in the unicomplex the sphere went in in Part 1 and we know the sphere has a diameter of 600 meters (Enterprise:"Regeneration").
So, it's pretty clear this thing does not have that much volume, not even compared to the sphere...and its weapons s**k.

Even though I'm first and foremost a KDF-player, I have to honestly ask: why don't you?
If you don't mind, I'll play Mister Morden for a second: "What do you want?"
-Fed-level
-KDF-at-launch-level
-"Mini-faction"
if you can see at least one of those in the next one or two years, dont give up entirely.
i want romulan..... cant beleave you still have to ask that but with the KDF been lets just say the same for 2 years do you really see any new faction even a Mini-faction ?? im sorry but to be frank if you do you in fairyland
this how i see cryptic doing romulan you pick to be KDF/FED romulan that the only way they will make it in to this game there ships and outfits will come in lockboxes

Yep. I don't see them making a new story line for a new faction in this game. They only have 1 1/2 factions now.

Lets all play a faction where all the ships move on their own with no player input, since our "captains" aren't actually self controlled.
How bout NO!!!!
seriously. Even liberated, if they aren't part of the Fed or KDF (Lifers got this already) then they are bystanders. (or as the KDF puts it, they will be roadkill)

The Borg Diamond was much bigger than a Cube.
Has its already been said there are no individuals in the collective.
Which is why any faction wouldn't be the Collective but more like a Goth-y Seven of Nine/Borg Cooperative/Hugh offshoot.
Liberated Borg who still believe in the superiority of being Borg and using Borg tech rather than going home, with opt-in Collective functionality.
