Risa Vaction Outfit Pack

klaive0klaive0 Member Posts: 18 Arc User
Ok i can see the point with most of the Zen outfit packs..

But want to know what we would really want?

A Risa Beachware Outfit pack ( BOTH FED AND KDF)

why are orions the only ones who look properly dressed on Risa and the rest of us look like stuffy prudes.

I know one of my my toons would really rock a Grass skirt and coconut shell top..
( he's a little weird)

and sunglasses... we would like sunglasses too.
Everyone makes mistakes,
it's how we correct them that shows our true character....

I think I know why this hasn't been done

Some may object to seeing so much skin

Could a filter be made that if activated would show
A generic shirt and pants ?

If the filter was made all clothing made could be
Under the filter automatically and you would have
To deactivate it like a parental control.

Well, we've already got the Orion 'uniform', so I don't think it'll be that.

It's the guy showing up in an STF in a speedo.

    Definately.

I'll refuse to be civil about that.

It's got to stop somewhere.

I for one would love to see the devs go back to the Sirius sector planetary social zones and expand them into proper adventure zones.

...and also create several equivalent KDF zones. Rura Penthe adventure zone anyone? Wild Targ hunting on Qonos?

Sadly, I doubt the resources exist to allow for this kind of retrofitting when there is so much pressure to deliver new content.

In the old days of subscription, they would have probably done this even if only to keep the subscribers happy.

Now however, the consideration is always ''is it profitable to do something?''

In a free to play game, you should never expect an effort to be made anymore on things that cannot be monetized, big content patches excluded.

They wouldn't allow it for the same reason they didn't give us the proper PC Gamer open jacket - people would apparently complain if there was too much human skin. Because, you know, Star Trek never showed nearly-naked people.

Picard: A line must be drawn! Here, No further!

    :D

But seriously, Swim trunks and a tank top for guys, a one piece swimsuit with a sarong for women.

But yeah, Sunglasses are a must. And they need to be available on ALL costume settings.

I want to rock some shades as I take my ship into battle, blow up a Breen ship and quip "Well, they jus got *puts on sunglasses* Iced. while my Jem'Hadar BOFF Screams "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" and my borg engineer plays a guitar.

The biggest problem i saw with this one was the skin options. there as so many great options (my main has infected) that only go to the neck. in one of the last issues of ask cryptic DStahl said that there were no plans to go back and fix any of those to be full body, which sucks because i just wanted to be able to use the TOS short sleeved shirt with my guy. A dream that is never going to happen because cryptic has a hard time finishing anything they start.

ditto the above poster. And while Hawaiian clothing/beachwear isn't my favorite necessarily, I do think a Risa pack with Hawaiian-type clothing, swimsuits, and maybe just some other casual stuff perhaps from Star Trek canon would be pretty awesome and I'd probably buy it...I promise not to wear that stuff on duty! Okay, at least not too often!

I've played games in which a monthly festival zone is used by player's to complete quests for currency. Currency which is only good for buying festival specific items. Such as clothes for their characters. The clothes are inexpensive as they are not permanent. Player's buy them knowing that these clothes are temporary and vanish from inventory once the character leaves the festival zone. Player's have to re-buy these clothes from scratch each time the festival rolls around. You want to keep those clothes? Don't leave the zone.

Why couldn't an approach like that work for an STO social zone such as Risa? I'm sure there are other social zones where this method would also be appropriate to dress in the local color. But not clothes appropriate to wear any place else.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

This is essetially the crux of the issue as I understand it. We would need some tech (that we don't have now) that would limit a costume to a specific map. If we had that, we could allow people to wear swimsuits and pixel clouds on Risa, but they wouldn't be able to run around ESD, or Unimatrix 1 with them on.

The problem is that we do not have that tech at the moment, and it has not been a priority to develop that.

Plus we can wear formale EVENING WEAR to fight the borg, what's their reasoning about that humm. :o

I like the idea, for Risa, but I'm in the camp of thinking it'd be daft to join an STF to find someone using a toon wearing a bikini.

That problem is solved with a simple toggle to display standard uniform visuals. Similar to the way you are able to filter profanity out of chat. Instead of treating everyone like children, let everyone design their own playpen.

Now, if someone's beef is they don't like the idea of someone else being able to see everyone running around in bikinis, then the motivation is pure, condescendingly moralizing sanctimony, and the high ground is surrendered.

Yeah, it's just a filter. There's no restriction on where or when you can use your off duty outfits.
